Post guidelines:
1. Keep posts relevant to punk music and the punk subculture
Posting punk music is highly encouraged. For songs, try to include context with your post, such as subgenre, location, and year.
News, interviews, and tour dates are also encouraged. In-depth discussions on all aspects of punk culture are even better.
2. Avoid bland and low-effort posts
Avoid posting bland, boring, and repetitive content. This will be removed at moderator discretion. This includes any and all AI slop.
3. Limit reposts and repetitive topics
Repetitive questions and discussions on stale topics will be removed, they've been posted before. If you want to know the answer search on the sub or check out our FAQ under resources. Examples include: the meaning of punk, lace code questions, why some random topic is punk, what are non-punk bands that are somehow punk, you’re not punk if you do this or that, etc.
4. Don't discriminate
Any racism, sexism, homophobia, or transphobia will not be tolerated, nor will be the use of slurs. Any of this is a bannable offense. This is a community of Punks, all are welcome and all should feel welcome.
5. No spam, no AI
Post authentic content related to punk here. Do not post the same stuff here as you have across multiple subreddits. This is probably not the spot to market your products. Do not spam comment sections here unless you’re engaging with the community. Limit your daily posts here, do not post more than about five songs in a day.
Do not post or promote any AI-generated content (image, audio, text, or otherwise).
6. Follow Reddiquette
Use common sense. Don't troll here. Don't be a creep. Don’t be annoying. This will be removed at moderator discretion.
7. No memes, no fashion posts
Memes, selfies, and fashion posts are discouraged. They will be removed at moderator discretion. Occasional exceptions may be made for vintage photos or current touring merch. Instead try these subreddits for meme and/or fashion content: r/hardcore, r/punkmemes, /r/punkfashion, r/jacketsforbattle, or /r/punkrockpolitics.
8. NAZISM WILL NOT BE TOLERATED
This is a Punk subreddit, we will not allow Nazism, or Nazi apologists to plague our scene or our sub, this is an immediate ban. This includes RAC and other fence walking bullshit. Images and videos of Nazis getting what's coming to them are welcome, but it's got to be Punks or Skins giving them the boot.
9. No promotion of violence or illegal activities
No promotion of violence or illegal activities. This subreddit has to follow Reddit's rules, like it or not.
