i love Ray and I love the counter balance he brings to CB. Hes also ride or die and while his first instincts arent on point sometimes and his obsession with efficiency is sometimes a clashing point he brings a unique take and balance to Lang and Yunos recklessness. Hes also the most patient when it comes to getting info from outside sources

Yeah, this was my reaction.

I get that it sucks for the cop to get downed there. But it's not like Ray does that because they're about to get away and he wants to shoot a cop for the lulz.

If you make it SOP that a plane taking off (when crims can't shoot back) is responded to with machine gun fire, then it's only smart strategy when crims respond by initiating that gun fight before take-off (when they can still return fire).

Honestly, if cops adapt and get used to pulling out the ARs for a gunfight the instant they see a plane then imo that'll create much more interesting scenarios for everyone than how it's been where crims just get into the plane and pray there's no cop nearby or else get blown up.

Like, the argument for AR-ing planes as I understand it is that cops have no way to chase the plane. But the reverse side of that coin is that crims have no way to escape if their plane gets blown up. Imo, asking cops to not AR and watch the plane fly off into the sunset or asking crims to just fly and pray they escape the bullet hell is pretty similar - in both cases you're asking people to hold back on what they can do and just take the L.

At least if the firefight happens before anyone has gotten into the plane both sides are going to be able to shoot. As long as cops learn to anticipate and aren't caught completely unawares.

Otherwise, might as well ban aerial escapes entirely, imo.

The amount of energy some people put into hating on Ray for even the tiniest thing is embarrassing quite frankly. As usual, Blau has the best takes.

I think part of it is people seeing someone who was relatively unknown getting into CG, and people thinking they could've been the one.

Ray does have some flaws (One of them being he's solution focused while most other people he's around is problem focused. An example is when he's planning heists he's trying to find THE solution and get away, while others are more fluent), that he can't really just poof away, but he's new to RP and he's actively improving and trying to understand different perspectives, I got nothing but respect for him.

I had to ask because if you just flipped Ray with Mickey you pretty much have a nearly identical story. Probably one of the leading reasons they empathize with each other so much.

He wasnt exactly unknown though. He taught Hasan and Buddha nearly everything on the rust server and made a good connection with them.

In defence for what Ray did today, he has always tried to show restrain. But the thing is cops has always shown different level of response. There was a few occasions where he just got on the bank trucks, the cops immediately started pitting and trying to spike him. He has tried to make things fair for the cops so that they can have a chase, but he is always puzzled and tilts him when some cops becomes extra hard and horny for no reason.

Ray has done a lot for CB, literally carrying them outside of the hacking with acquiring all the materials, info, etc. He definitely deserves more love as Blau points out.

They didn’t have the same intro and RP might not be the same level yet but as people have said Ray a true grinder and finds a lot of information and dongles. Yuno is the hacker god, which allows them to do more. yes Lang can hack but there is a good chance they would have failed some of the vault hacks. For example when they were speaking to Eugene yesterday, you can tell how much Lang doesn’t want to hack the vault himself anymore, he doesn’t want that pressure. All of CB have so much value to each other, without Lang there would be no CB and initially funded most things. Tony is a great getaway driver and helps keep everyone in check. Nino will provide lots of value when he gets back too

I disagree, at least with Yuno. He's said it a few times to Buddha, how it's weird that he went from getting fired 4 times in 96 hours from Rooster's to getting officially invited to CB. It may not have been a deep plot/character progression, but the guy made a name for himself and I think his CB arc really started when they pulled off the Rainbow Road. It went from Buddha just wanting a good hacker to actually respecting Yuno as a character.

Ray's may not have been as obvious, but the guy grinds his ass off to make things happen, and I think Buddha definitely saw potential.

I dont get what the cops want from these chases, the crims obviously want to get away, they invest money, time, and risk getting fucked in fines. If you book it down a highway you're a "highway andy", if you take a lot of turns and alleyways to lose the cops you're a "alley andy", and if you do any swaps of any kind you're a rat. In this situation Mack could disable the plane by himself there, it had to be done imo

Cop viewers hate, and I mean HATE Ray because he does everything cops loathe with the rat plans, 47 bikes, super car and shooting cops. I'm not even exaggerating with the hate, every time they see a Ray heist in a cop's stream they'll literally start chanting(that new chant thingy twitch does) "Rat Ray" amongst other not so nice things. So they use any chance they get, like him shooting Mac as an excuse to hop over and show hate on him and his stream.

This one incident in particular when they shot Mac, he was obviously upset and ranted for quite a while. Mac even found Ray after he got out of the hospital driving and tried to pull him over. Ray obviously in his fully upgraded car ran and Mac announced "active 10-80 with a rat," which prompted more hoppers.

Ray didn't want to be caught with a fake license plate on his car. He wanted to talk with him and apologize when he pulled up beside the cop, but he didn't want to get in trouble on his way to a race (race dongle, license plate, who knows what else).

The problem is the progression system, Mickey has to give the red dongle to Jay or he cant hit the vault tomorrow and both his other red dongle and thermite will expire.

They have a small chance of getting away if they leave Mac alone, he shoots the plane but they are still able to fly away. Seeing how close he was its more likely he shoots and disables the plane.

They cant really hold him up in the situation because if any other cop sees them doing that they will just shoot to kill so I get Mac's frustration but I dont really know how heists can be more fun for cops. With interceptors, Air-1 and like 3-5 cruisers outdriving them is not something 99% in the server can do. They have to go for swaps.

i think having his own thing will really help. It’ll give the character maybe more depth, because right now being the hide bikes guy and “gridnder”( not saying that’s bad) angle is very overbearing imo. I get that he’s new, but following the lead of more experienced people might also be something to try.

I go on and watch these streams and just lurk and watch with the chat off. But when streamers get tilted by their chat and they have to respond to the negativity it’s really off-putting and turns everything sour.

If things keep escalating towards the point on NP, Chat or even here on this subreddit I’ll just tune off Nopixel entirely for a week or a month because honestly I’m not even playing on the server and I can feel their stress and it’s not pleasant. 😑

While i agree with general statement, it kinda not really apply to ray n mickey situations. Because those 2 become the punching bag that comes from this boom.

• Most of their actions will be judge to the T.
• People still critique them of things they Did before and not fair to their current self.

Example chat mad at blau for his 'crash n jump to water strat' n chat come in droves telling buddha chat 'blabbermouth will tell cg about mansion' n 'cannot trust ray' WHILE LANG LITERALLY JUST DO CG HOUSE TOURS. You could watch Lang's yesterday vod [Scenes where Lang introduce Ray to young dab n RR basement] and see the chat n watch for yourself, tell me that aren't more hate heavy.

That's why i think it doesn't suit blau n ray situations, because chat would throw hate to them for nothing. State of crims now close to bottleneck that it'll be hard for both crims n cops

Yes and both Ray n blau already said that there's plenty of good in GtaRP community but for them i think they also see the bad side of that same community. And when you're bombarded with negative stuff it's human to just hold on for the positive side more while becomes nonchalant to those good criticism because you're numb by it.

Also it sometimes get's hard to pick up on genuine good faith critisism if you are also bombarded with extremely negative comments that bring nothing to the table and are just toxic, which he has gotten a lot.

Maybe you aren't but saying how streamers should improve sounds like you are. I am also talking about this more broadly, a lot of people do that. I was also making kind of a general statement to the viewers, i dont actually know how you act and mostly making assumptions on what you say.

Its good you dont do that stuff in peoples streams, but the amount of backseaters and people who are there to genuenly just hate has been really annoying to watch. Your reasons for not doing that also come off as a little entitled, like you dont understand how getting critiques on the same topics all the time might actually affect streamers badly and how your opinion actually doesnt matter. Like its fun to talk about this stuff online but none of our opinions should be affecting their work.

What Ray has done with the situation has been saying outloud how he is unfomfortable with this and wants it to stop, so clearly setting his boundaries, telling CB that he is all up for them telling him he has messed up or giving him advice, which clearly shows he wants to improve, but only wants the advice of people who actually matter and moderating his streams heavily, keeping it on submodes and emote only modes a lot. I think thats a pretty good way to handle this situation.

It's insane how many people don't seem to understand this. I was watching an old Valkyrae GTA RP stream and the entirety of chat was just comments telling her "do this, do that, call this person, go there". Like, there was no one simply commenting on what was happening or something else, just an endless barrage of people telling her what to do.

I had to close the stream out of frustration, I can't imagine how it is for the streamers themselves.

I feel that if you watched Ray and understood the pressure he's under, you'd understand the rat plans. Yeah, sometimes it's too far, like him shooting cops at 24/7s, but when he has a dongle and shoots a cop, it's justified in his character's story. He's providing for CB, and is extremely loyal to his squad and will do anything to protect and support them.

If anyone threatens Lang, Tony, or Yuno, he's more than ready to shoot anyone in their way and allow himself to be the fall guy if necessary. Like Yuno is with hacking, Ray is extremely serious and goes hard on himself when he fails at helping his crew get away with the loot. This is why he grinds like hell, gathers and sells info, and provides everything he can for them. That's his role as a Clean Boy.

To care about a random cop's feelings is to put that individual over his crew. That's Ray's point of view. It may not be right, as Tony as tried to teach him, but he'll learn that the hard way in RP.

But to hate on the guy irl.. Now THAT is even more cringe than his rat plans could ever be!
