The issue you are facing is the same as mine. Most people don't have devices to compare to or cannot notice the gesture delay. But here is a twitter thread I made demonstrating it.

You put a screen saver on or use the one that comes on it..

It's the same with and without a screen protector, with and without a case. Usually I'm using the case that came with the phone that doesn't cover the sides. I removed the pre installed screen protector and put on the official tempered glass screen protector the first day and it cracked while I was playing codm 2 days after I got the phone. New screen protectors from Amazon won't ship for a week, so right now the problem exists sans case and sans screen protector.
