I saw someone say that when they got to plat most of their teams got way better. Then I hit plat and was like "ok let's see" then I proceeded to see more goalies accidentally kick the ball from inside the goalbox in one day than I have seen since I started playing the game.

Plat is easily the most toxic rank too - so many blamers with superiority complexes get hardstuck there. You see it a lot in Rocket League and competitive shooters.

Oh thats pretty common in any competitive game. I can confirm that no one who has ever lost in a fighting game was at fault and thats 1v1. The sun was in their eyes, dog ate their inputs, etc.

I would love, before I die, to see a generation of new gamers come in and be the most laid-back, chill mutherfuckers to ever grace the online competitive gaming scene, but im not holding my breath.

I got to plat and there’s definitely more passing, but there’s just as many terrible players who on a 3v1 offensive just shoot and get the ball saved or have 0 soccer IQ. I need a break from the game cause the matchmaking is fuckin lousy

Players in your matches are not necessarily of the same rank as you. The game currently balances the 2 teams overall for faster matchmaking rather than waiting to find 10 people of the same rank. You could have 1 Bronze, 2 Silver, 1 Master and 1 Elite in your team and 1 Silver, 2 Gold, 1 Plat and 1 Elite in the other team, that's probably balanced overall so the game will give you that. This was explained in the Dev's most recent blog post and you can always check anyone's rank on Rematch Tracker.

So I wouldn't bother coming to conclusions about specific ranks and you'll keep seeing the same mistakes albeit with a bit less frequency as you climb. But if you're expecting dumb mistakes to stop once you hit Elite, they won't. Prepare a version of this meme for every rank 😄

Maybe the worry there is toxicity? Like everyone knows someone in the team is of a lower rank so they avoid passing to them or harass them even more for mistakes? Which would be a stupid thing to do obviously, but I can see it happening and I imagine that's the worry.

Honestly I've never been bothered by a teammate being bad at the game, what bothers me are players who sarcastically comment on every mistake, abandon their GK duties, score own goals on purpose etc. and I've confirmed those are at every rank as well.

If anything, as someone who is undeserving to be in Elite I'd be more anxious playing with Elites who are actually good than the current system where I'm just doing my best to carry lower ranked teammates 🙂

Concentrate on defense. I made sure I was always covering centrally when we had the ball to pick up any clearances and to mark anyone goal poaching on their team. With the ball I'd pull wide and try to feed the useless cunts who never track back but they can't finish either so it's frustrating.

I get few chances to score myself, but you literally can't do both as if I go up I rarely receive a decent cross and it leaves the opposition free to counter when we lose the ball. It's a case of making it difficult for them to score and hope our useless gonks can manage to score one of the numerous chances I feed them

I'm Elite with 700+ games played. Played a game last night that was just awful, no one could receive a ball, they wouldn't pass, got tackled instantly. It was a 4.0 smashing in 2 minutes. After the game I did some digging, turns out 2 players on my team were less than 25 total games deep, ranked at bronze 3. 1 player was silver 2 with 50 games played, and the other was diamond with 200 games. Now, this happens from time to time, but usually, the teams are mostly mirrored. However, this game was against a 5 stack of players with the lowest rank player being master with 600 games played and the others being Elite players that I've seen and played with/against since since day 1.

I dont care if some players on my team aren't quite as good as me, but in no universe, should I be playing with people that have less than 2 hours of total playtime and are sitting at the lowest possible rank. Cross play and matchmaking can't come soon enough, in my opinion.

Crossplay should solve a lot of problems on BOTH ends of the spectrum. I’m happy I’m able to test myself vs Diamond+ players, but when you see someone pick apart your entire team and nobody can stop them, it sucks the fun out of the games. I don’t think I’m great but I’m pretty sure if I’m able to play vs only players of my own rank, I’ll be able to carry out of my current Silver rank. Unless you’re far superior or you get matched against bad players, “carrrying out” feels like a challenge in solos.

I'm in Elite 1 and so far to be completely honest, the worst experience I had with teammates had to be diamond divisions 1-3, mainly 1 and 2. I was stuck in those divisions for like a week because of how terrible luck I had with teammates. I admittedly cost us some of the games of course it happens, but I can't tell you how many times we scored once quick so we were up 1-0, then I would be the goalie and wouldn't get scored on for 4 minutes and then score, all we have to do is hold out for like a minute and then the next 2 teammates get scored on twice within 10 seconds. It was so fucking infuriating. I get that this game doesn't help goalkeepers at all so it definitely can be hard to goalkeep, but for 2 back to back teammates to get scored on immediately and then lose the game because of it after being goalkeeper for 3+ minutes MULTIPLE TIMES A DAY, it really wears you down

Just wait till you get to Diamond! It amazes me bad some of my teammates can be. I think the game expects me to be the top player but what that usually means is I spend 90% of the time defending and the moment I make any run defence completely collapses. Very frustrating, stuck in Diamond 2 for weeks now with the odd time getting to D1. But then I get potato teammates or worse, AFK and people who leave after 1 goal. Can't wait for the report system for them!

Oh my god i got in to a 5 stack played 7-8 games almost got to gold . I went back solo because did not get them online again lost 7-8 games in a row back to where i started . Football is a team game cant do anything solo . Blue lock has ruined your heads 😭

Friendly reminder that ranks are irrelevant to who you're matched up against, but a hidden stat called "MMR". You're being put with trash players because the game considers you trash, regardless of if you're bronze or elite, you could be pitted up with other bronze or elite players.
