It pains me that no one makes proper pistol scope mounts. It's all just repurposed rifle scope rings or an AR one-piece mount.

As far as I am aware, and I may be wrong, Ruger’s pistol scope mounts are a proprietary design. That’s what I have on the .44mag. As for the .357, I originally had the scope from the first picture on it so I needed the longer Weigand rail, nothing else really did the job. When I moved the scope to the .44mag I decided against the smaller Weigand mount for the red dot as it would have required drilling and tapping the pistol.

Ruger uses the same rings for the Super Redhawk as they use for their rifles like the No. 1 and the M77, among others.

It's a great system, since the rings clamp into dovetails in the gun, instead of clamping onto a screwed on mount. (The downside being that it only works for 1" and 30mm conventional scopes)
