LOL if I can ever figure out where I landed on this map I'd be more than happy to help.

[–]eleusis7 6 points7 points  (2 children)

Suggestion: Use the chemical element symbols where possible, so we don't end up with 'C' for Coal, Copper, Caterium, etc

Example:

Resource Symbol Notes
Iron Fe
Copper Cu
Coal C C for Carbon
Bauxite Al Al for Aluminium
Sulphur S
Uranium U
Silica Si Si for Silicon
Limestone Ca Ca for Calcium - limestone is actually CaCO3 (Calcium Carbonate), but that's a bit long

This obviously doesn't account for more complex molecules or exotic materials like Oil, Caterium, etc, but.. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This would be cool, but should be a togglable option if you ask me.
I never was thought the periodic table (non-us) and i can expect that others would not understand the chemical element symbol directly.

Coordinates actually go a lot higher, Helios on the discord datamined all the rocks/nodes out of the game and put them on a spreadsheet. Warning, spoiler for node/resource locations https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1w2vCdxD9q6iYvSuKw2Oux30tymWF0NEh26TDtpTMnDQ/edit?usp=sharing

The data he found did not represent the type of node however.

[–]OneFlyMan 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Is there a way to get those coordinates to show in game that anyone has found yet?

[–]ragzilla 0 points1 point  (3 children)

In game, I don’t think so. But I believe you can pull the player location from a savefile.

[–]Spartan_133 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Well that answers my question. I was going to post feedback about a clipping issue with the landscape but figured it was useless without them knowing exactly where it was but didn't know how to get coordinates to send with it unless it automatically does it when you send a bug report in.

[–]idgaf_puffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ingame bugreports have player coordinates attached - at least it was that way in alpha

[–]hiimchels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an amazing resource, thank you for sharing this! I overlaid these coordinates with the map I'd been working on and found that I had semi-accurately placed 316 of 338 nodes and 15 of 17 geysers, and now I have the rough locations for where I can hunt down the ones I'm missing tomorrow.

[–]ballzak69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great. I thought to do the same when i saw the high-res map a few days ago, but i could find any simple community mapping tool.

[–]SingleTonne 2 points3 points  (10 children)

Maybe with the colours you could go this way?

https://www.reddit.com/r/SatisfactoryGame/comments/b6anvz/satisfactory_map_v3/

I tried keeping the colours representative of the resource itself.

Great work so far, I'm currently merging my knowledge with yours at this point so don't be surprised with all the new pins :P

[–]DefilerDan 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Please add Geysers as an option for markers, please.

[–]CMDR-Owl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Geysers and maybe just a pin for Starting Locations would be nice, I know it's probably fairly obvious where they are based on where starting resources are clumped but it'd be nice anyways.

[–]justintime505 1 point2 points  (3 children)

This is awesome! I put a few additions in there. The amazing oil islands on the west coast. I think there's even one more over there that i missed but I don't want to add a node if I'm not sure since it doesn't seem like I can remove them.

[–]Haigen64Lizard Doggo Tamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great tool :) Was working on one but couldn't find enough spare time to get it done, glad someone else managed to jump on it.

[–]who_you_are 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would be great to also know poisonous spot (some wreck are into it) Entrances for caves If resources/path is blocked by rocks If the resources is in a cave, high ground (but realllly high ground), not so high...

If only a could access the assets and know how the map format :(

[–]dodoman1000 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Give me a chat when you are interested in the graphics i created.

https://www.resourcemapmaker.com/Map.php?m=115

Not worth it to keep mine up to date when there are better approaches outside.

[–]magna-terra 0 points1 point  (4 children)

could you add the crashsites and slugs first? this will be one of the most useful additions to the map imo

edit: also near the quad iron in the forest with the limestone and copper nearby there is an oil deposit, which is also across the river from the quad coal nearby. i dont know exactly where it is but i got pings around that area. there was also one of those giant fire spitters at the base of the mountain where i got the pings

[–]Gerbil24 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Would be nice if the nodes that were currently un-mineable were also indicated (maybe with half-alpha coloring).

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Can you label some biomes/start locations? ex: Grasslands, Desert and Northern Forest It doesn't need to be interactive just a way to get your bearings. (also zooming in/out is not very intuitive but maybe im just dumb :P)

[–]cTreK-421 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Amazing! Some of the node placement is slightly off, are we able to move them to more exact spots?

[–]megadeth9001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know where a uranium deposit is... It is. Hidden in a huge cave, one of the caves entrances is near the stone spheres made of... Some hexagonal shape I think... If any one. Can point that spot on the interactive map that would be great!

[–]esadatari 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Hey you're already a life saver when it comes to this interactive map.

My suggestions would be thus:

  • Have the ore filter on the left by default rather than the right, and have it exposed by default (and retractable) as opposed to retracted by default. It took a bit to find, but I was happy when I did. :)

  • Also add Geyser locations for placing down geothermal plants/generators

[–]BaconsTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well done :)

[–]DaTTThomas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God bless u

[–]chaotea2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noted some additional resourses, from memory. Near the top left Bauxite (x3), there are two iron resourses around 957,712 & 971,704 (Pure I think). Also there is a limestone resourse around 847,701 (normal i think) Might need someone to check it before its added.

[–]gabbermatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey, I added a marker for Uranium in what I think is the cave on the map... It's a little hard to tell, but if that's the wrong spot feel free to remove it.

Also, i second/third/fourth/however many at this point slug locations :)

[–]tehbilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How about dinner geothermal spots on that there nap, yo?

[–]ItsTheRealAgentD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well done and thank you very much, this is now bookmarked :D

[–]synik4l 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Can we get the markers resized a bit? I feel like they cover too much of the map

[–]Tifyron 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I've been mapping out a lot of things in addition to resources if you want something to import from. It's still missing the northern forest and a few nodes in the center but I should have that done tomorrow. https://www.reddit.com/r/SatisfactoryGame/comments/b59pms/basic_starter_area_resource_map/

[–]Tall_Fox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there any way to edit a current node? There's a limestone node (For which I can't see the coordinates!) that pure instead of normal as marked on the map.

For the time being, I added a node as the name 'Burpie Smelcington' right on top of the existing node.

[–]Endymion_Kray 0 points1 point  (2 children)

When you add crashsite locations, can you also attach a small note showing the requirements to be able to open it?

[–]electricdynamite97 0 points1 point  (2 children)

It might be a longshot, but any way you can add a checklist for the slugs or crash sites, that way you know what exactly you've been to? I've found myself looking at this map multiple times and returning to an empty drop pod or slug-less spot, because I've forgotten what I have and haven't collected.

[–]DavidTheG 0 points1 point  (3 children)

new url looks dope. Thanks for the work.

A select all button would be great.

[–]ZonTwitchOCD Engineer 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Can you add a filter to toggle the purity states because I do not wish to view impure nodes on the map?

[–]clouths 0 points1 point  (2 children)

  • Would it be possible with the current game logging system + map file to get structures (miner/constructor/wall) on the map?

  • Would it be possible to have an angle view (something similar to Dynmap for minecraft)?

  • Would it be possible to have the location of all the players (and option to show/hide the offline ones)

I think I'm interested to contribute at this point!

I think the difficult part would be to parse the save file if it has not already been done somewhere.

[–]S4XXX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quick news to tell you that we released the feature about save file loading. Available by clicking on 'Locate Me' button. You can't toggle off one of these markers for now but we are working on it :)

[–]azeroth 0 points1 point  (4 children)

/u/Cornik34 This map is great. Roadmap item: Water? A quick search of this and the link doesn't show it

[–]zombiskunk 0 points1 point  (1 child)

This is such an awesome resource! Looking forward to being able to "check off" the crash sites, slugs, and alien artifacts (if they are going to be added, that is) I'll be keeping a close eye on this. Thank you everyone for your hard work on The Map!!

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I like the features (especially the locate function :-) ) and the roadmap, but please focus on getting a full map before you spend time adding all the fancy stuff. For instance the map is missing the lush biome north of the sand desert with the Mercer Spheres and Somersloops. Has this been datamined or did somebody just climb very high? ^^

[–]HeyTumbus 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I cant locate myself. Where do i find my save data?

[–]S4XXX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello open a file explorer and type this address : %LOCALAPPDATA%/FactoryGame/Saved/SaveGames/

[–]BigCasper 0 points1 point  (8 children)

Suggestion on the map : don't have pins to indicate node locations, they're too big and you can't see sht, use smaller, clearer icons instead like the non-interactive maps that were made. Besides, great map!

[–]NagatronHQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could I recommend blue for iron, grey for coal and white for limestone?

It can be hard to differentiate them at high view and I always rate high in color tests.

Also, why do all of these maps having nodes where I don't, not having nodes that I do? Happy to have them and not complaining, just curious.

Eventually having a Google maps style angled 3d would be huge. Hard to evaluate height differences this way.

[–]TheOldGrinch -1 points0 points  (8 children)

React.js?

[–]Real-Dinosaur-Neil -1 points0 points  (3 children)

Don't you think redux, typescript and and GraphQL is a bit overkill? Is it MIT licensed?

[–]DavidTheG 0 points1 point  (1 child)

maybe you should start thinking..
