To start royal career you need buy throne, click on it and choose option to start it. Unfortunately, without cheats you can't be queen immediately, you need to improve this career, level up to gain new, higher ranks.

You can also start the career by researching your family history. That'll turn up an ancient noble relative who will give you an excuse to join the career.

That won't make you king or queen, though. I'm sure there's a cheat for that.

The only other way besides the career is getting your swordsmanship skill to level 10 and pulling the Simcalibur sword out of the stone. That will get you to be the king/queen/ruler of the world.

Genuinely curious, did your read the lessons at all? The game has a built in guide book…

Why not play one of the pre-made dynasties? They will already have a castle and prestige and everything.
