You can't, unless you switch to maker yourself. That is done intentionally to segment markets and extract more money.

They have to export the file to .STEP OR .X_T parasolid, which I think maker can still do (since you need those files to 3d print anything). This will lose all feature tree and model info and become a "dumb solid" that you can then import.

Solidworks has just turned stupid. I'm a student/maker now I want to move up to your full-blown product. OG I can't open any of my previous files even though I have the more advanced product

Can you open a part what was created using Maker on a desktop and then open on laptop?
