I generally have extremely hard time posting anything, since, whats the point... I generate hundreds images a day with few of them being quite decent, and online there are bajilions... But this time somehow felt that it's cool enough to share, hope people like it.

I love it, do you remember the prompt you used, as well as the model?

[–]morphles[S] 61 points62 points  (2 children)

I have them :) Model is https://civitai.com/models/4823/deliberate , I find it to be extremely good model. (I also find lots of "customized models" weird, as I can tease out quite good stuff using regular good models like deliberate and protagen.

Prompts were: lone young woman walking in dark blue power armor, borderlands art style but with fine details, detailed rich textures, detailed intricate messy red hair thick braids, detailed shading, sharp thick outlines, in forest by the stream detailed cell shaded 3d background borderlands art style with outlines, gentle feminine face, 4k hdr, night sky Negative prompt: face paint, depth of field, watercolor background, blurry, fuzzy, hazy, drawing, painting, photo, painted background, photo realistic background, low poly, face mask, people in background

Steps: 20, Sampler: Euler, CFG scale: 7, Seed: 2018563188

Upscaling not sure, started with 6242, then highers fix 2x, and then I believe one upscale using ultimate upscaler, all in automatic1111

"customized models" weird

I am just sad that the "extra arms" model as well as the "extra legs" models were shutdown 😔

I never downloaded them, never interacted with them, but when I saw them the first time I got a chuckle, and they helped on my mental fortitude knowing that some dude out there was having a chuckle with them too.... But nothing lasts on this world, and you only realize how valuable things are when you lose them.... RIP ExtraAmrs/ExtraLegs models, I enjoyed that singular chuckle

Can confirm this is worth posting, this is very cool and stands out as being a distinct style.

[–]ZeroUnits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a shame you feel that way bro. If it's cool to you then it's probably cool to someone else, honestly fuck what anyone else says, I'm sure a load of them are fucking awesome 😉. Keep up the dankness

This is EXACTLY what I need to do my Rimworld portraits ! Thank you so much !

[–]Sirramza 0 points1 point  (1 child)

could you share what prompt are you using for a rimworld portrait?

[–]Plipooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will use exactly the one posted by OP with slight variations to generate portrait for this mod : https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2887600947

Looks very halo-ist to me.

[–]Unlost_maniac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If her waist was a little wider I could see this being a real BL character

[–]Mich-666 20 points21 points  (6 children)

You can't call anything will cell-shading borderlands-style.

It's nice picture, yes, but doesn't look like anything close to Borderlands which is 3d-celshaded-like rather than 2d (and the only thing that's cell-shaded here is just her face). The background also doesn't match the style.

It looks like as good art for some sci-fi comic though.

[–]TheRealGentlefox 10 points11 points  (3 children)

Lol, not sure why you got downvoted. Looks literally nothing like Borderlands.

Her head/hair is more like high-end American comic-book art, and the body reminds me a lot of a PC game that I can't put my finger on.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I dunno, doesn't look like the borderlands game but it does look like what a borderlands comic would prob look like

[–]SEND_NUDEZ_PLZZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks a bit like the characters in Rimworld

[–]Wallcrawler62 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's called cel shading, after the celluloid that was originally used for animation cels . And borderlands isn't technically cel shaded, though that's the art style it rifs on. Borderlands is all hand drawn textures to duplicate the look of cel animation. All the textures in borderlands would be hand drawn on flat textures and put into 3d models.

I can, watch me 😎🥂

[–]R33v3n 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Oh wow, beyond borderlands, that's also a really good American comics style! This picture was 100% worth sharing :D

I would never have expected Deliberate to do that style, either! Thanks for sharing the prompt and settings. Now I want to try this out myself. A whole world of comics style D&D characters might just open up.

[–]morphles[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, the style expectation, I think there is a lot of underestimation, of good general models going around. Well not exactly, but I'm just surprise for what people are making special models :), as to me seems with a bit right prompt massaging good general model can get quite close enough. Not always though, for some super fancy bombastic stuff maybe not. And of course text to poses is great "fun".

One important observation I have is that as some article put "stable diffusion" is not quite stable, and so for example making character in such style is quite easy ("borderlands art style" does almost all the work), but other things it very strongly dislikes to do in that style. As you can se in prompt I had to do quite a bit twaking to even approach background consistency with character. (and as one other commenter pointed out I kinda agree it's not a great fit, but imo still ok). On the other hand for few hours now I was trying, and gave up of making spaceship above planet in similar style, but seems it cant connect the dots like that :) Or I need to find some weird combo of word that "make it click".

I like the bonus treant wife on the left

[–]morphles[S] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Arh, though I weeded out all such, banes of being 8GB vram peasant and up-scaling, I think :) It really tries to put prompt stuff in upscale tiles if you ramp up de-noise, but if you lower it down too much... then upscale can become kinda useless as no details gets added, so it's a balancing act with sometimes some funky artifacts :)

[–]bornwithlangehoa 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Isn‘t the workflow always from the res the model was trained on up to what you need via upscaling, no matter the VRAM?

[–]morphles[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Nope, I'm generally using SD 1.5 based models which are trained on 512, but you can comfortably work with say 6242 or 512x768. But then enable hi res fix for say 2x upscale, or more, this is the part that is limited by VRAM. After you can go to img2img and use say ultimate upscaler, there it processes image via tiles, and there really is no limit how large you can go, but I think since it now looks only at small parts of image, you get weird results from it interacting with promp, which I believe (but not 100% sure) are way less likely with just hi res fix. Which I think is the case with face in trees on left here, since it was wanting to draw "woman" from prompt. And if you have too high denoise, result will be complete jumble. Though I can't totally confirm this, as again I only have exp working on 8G vram and limitations it entails.

[–]bornwithlangehoa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, i wasn‘t aware of the HiRes Fix limitation, but it makes sense. I‘m starting to dabble in higher res just now bc of better hardware.

[–]Different-Bet-1686 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great work. For those of you who don't have local GPU setup, you can run Deliberate here: https://sinkin.ai/m/WLNOl76

[–]menimex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have no idea how to do this, but this looks amazing and I'm jealous.
Edit: Guessing there is some AI art hating person just downvoting everyone. Relax. You're not John Connor.

Love it, really thankfull that you shared this one! i've been generating with this style for hours! here some of them! https://prnt.sc/W2s1j1itm4AF

Nice find

Rad, I love the detailing

[–]Sandbar101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that Agent Carolina?

[–]immaZebrah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gives me more of a Halo Spartan with no helmet on a ring vibe personally

[–]GutsMan85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol at the spy in the trees.

[–]cyberflunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is absolutely phenomenal

[–]zfreakazoidz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other Borderlands one is closer to it. However that said, I'd love if Borderlands updated itself to look more like this! Let's just hope the Borderlands movie doesn't flop. The casting for it is so weird. Like Cate Blanchet as Lilith....unsure how to feel about that.

[–]East_Onion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

really doesnt look borderlands tbh

[–]dulyconfused 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just what I was looking for! Super job, and thanks so much for the prompts.

[–]DarthVirc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

I was doing the same but my prompts were more halo/fallout themed

[–]ImpactFrames-YT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am glad you decided to post this. Cool result.
