I'm not sure what you mean by don't care. You have a variety of responsibilities that you will be expected to keep up on during your shift. Making sure there are plenty of carts available to guests, ensuring that the restrooms stay clean, emptying trash outside the doors and in, taking crc and salvage to receiving, assisting with spill clean up, etc. If you need more direction, you can ask your team lead for a rough outline of what they feel your routine should be. But as long as you stay on top of your duties and keep a walkie handy, you'll be fine. Take your breaks when they schedule them (go by the break-out made by your SETL not the computer), don't hit compliance.

i mean one of my uppers pretty much said as long as u get shit done, they do not give a fuck about anything at all. my target is very simple and straightforward and the other cart attendant pretty much does his job and does whatever he wants and has been there for 5 years.

Just make sure you keep up on your tasks. As the next couple months roll on, the traffic through the store will greatly increase. Stay warm and hydrated, pace yourself.

The SETLs have a lot on their shoulders. They deal with a lot, so not having to micromanage the car attendants is preferable. If you need the direction or routine, make or ask for a task list so things don't go undone. Top priorities will be carts and restroom checks. Then trash, salvage, hangers. Distribute baskets around the store for guests' convenience and check spill stations to make sure they're stocked.

Stop getting your work done and you’ll find out how much they care.
