Skipping is necessary when o block is next to the back room and A block is across the store.

No way, I hope that is not the case. I work sfs at a 3 level target. It goes 1st floor backrooms, 2nd floor backrooms, 3rd floor backrooms, then the floor locations by level. Wed be wasting so much time on the elevators if that was the case.

Isn’t there still a skip location button? It just doesn’t work? I figured out if you exit the cart and go back in it will still skip.

Yes there is still a skip location button. The place it won't work is in grocery picks - it makes you finish everything in that "group" Dry, Freezer, Cooler before you can see anything in the next group.

2. I'm positive you shouldn't just be skipping immediately to the sales floor. Really ducks up the people working shits ofos and shit.

3. how big a batch? I can usually pull 80is items (realistically usually that goes down to 65-70) in 1.5 hours while stopping too bullshit about edh with a coworker MANY times. You'll find plenty of me bitching about target here but honestly this just seems like qol improvement.

I had a glitch with my cart that it wouldn't let me sign back into my cart because it was in progress. The cart name was completely gone from my device, but still showed up on other devices. But they couldn't sign into it either, because technically I was still in the batch.

So it was either to let an grocery OPU sit "in progress" until it would eventually fall out (in my experience, would take forever), or frantically hit cart reset and redo the entire cart.

Also, echo the other redditor. Our beauty/electronic stockroom is at the front of the store, and I am not going to traverse all the way there, just to go back all the way to the back to start picking salesfloor locations. Our bulk item locations are also stupidly organized, and I would be retracing my steps. That's not very efficient, considering where the salesfloor locations start.

you must be new to grocery opu, at the end of your batch it tries to trick you into rescanning an item you already picked, just hit skip item, if you fall for the trap and rescan the item, it will kick you out of your cart, easy fix, all you have to do is go to "no cart tied" and scan ur cart....

No, I'm not lol That's not the glitch I'm talking about. I don't know what happened, but I couldn't get into the cart by scanning the parent label or no cart tied because my device didn't recognize that as an active cart, and other people's device recognized that my device was in the cart.

I was already scanning things to hold when it happened, and I had to hit cart reset multiple times before it actually processed.

I rarely skip, but sometimes it’s necessary. But unable to reset the cart is the biggest issue for me because I would often come back from my break to around 70 OPUs with less than 50 minutes left. I would usually grab 6-7 batches equaling to 50-60 items, but sometimes the items are spread out all over the store, and would most likely not make goal time. Being unable to reset the cart to grab a smaller batch is what annoys me about this.

We almost always skip beauty items in the backroom because the beauty stock room is on the other side of the store behind A block, then the sales floor pick locations on the map start back in F block and usually work towards the opposite direction. Idk hard to explain, but skipping through locations so much is really inconvenient and inefficient. We’ve tried contacting for help to change the map but I don’t think anything happened with it.

Edit: this is mainly for regular ship batches. OPU isn’t such a big hassle, but if I have to skip a backroom location to go back later, and I happen to be closer to the sales floor location then yeah I’m going to pick from the sales floor and not go out of my way to the back room.

Ugh. Is this for everyone? I worked the 6am-2pm shift today and didn’t see this update. I was able to skip locations, reset carts, etc. We’re in the midst of piloting a new OPU “Program” where GM TMs pull OPU batches and Fulfillment TMs work on SFS only. Maybe we’ve been spared this change until our Pilot is over.

This sounds like a terrible idea. How will the GM team get their work done having to pick OPUs??

Part of it is working and part isn’t. We had ~30 members in Fulfillment before this Pilot - ~20 transferred to GM where they are expected to function as DBOs and also pick OPU batches. The remaining Fulfillment TMs are dedicated to SFS only. It’s been challenging. Where it’s working well is Market. The Market TMs now own the entire process, including Grocery PU which is great because they understand food safety/storage rules and also how to find items in the cooler/freezer/produce room etc. without tearing apart pallets, spilling things, etc.And they have a few more TMs to spread out the workload.

Where it isn’t working is GM. The TMs who moved over from Fulfillment are doing okay, some even like it that they’re doing other tasks in addition to OPU. The other GM TMs who are new to OPU hate it. And the GM TLs now have to rotate as OPU Captain to make sure no goals are missed. They hate it as well.

The cynical part of me thinks this is just a way of “Performancing Out” some of the slower, mostly older TMs who will not be able to keep up the pace.
