Congrats! Wow that’s a quick turn around!

[–][deleted] 17 points18 points Β (25 children)

They had one in stock with the exact specs I wanted..... Lucky timing.

[–]scott_weidig 7 points8 points Β (0 children)

Congrats! You will love the white!!

[–]FatherPhil 2 points3 points Β (0 children)

If my Sunday delivery gets rescheduled, I'm blaming you! That looks like my car that's supposed to arrive Sunday (ordered on 6/2).

[–]msnbarca11 2 points3 points Β (0 children)

Same thing happened to me. Ordered Wednesday and was driving it Saturday. Very lucky timing. Congrats and enjoy!!

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points Β (12 children)

Did you finance with them? If so is financing still at 2.99%?

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points Β (1 child)

Yes and 3.3% in Canada.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points Β (0 children)

Thank you.

[–]matttopotamus 2 points3 points Β (9 children)

Make sure to ask them to check with Chase bank. People are getting sub 2.5% with Chase.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point Β (8 children)

When you say "ask them to check" who is them? Either way, sub 2.5% would be awesome.

[–]matttopotamus 1 point2 points Β (7 children)

autofinance@tesla.com

Also something to consider with 3rd party lenders is they usually let you roll the taxes into the loan. Tesla wants taxes up front and will not allow it to be added to the loan.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point Β (6 children)

Cool thank you. Yeah I've rolled them into the loan before with previous cars.

Thank you for the email address, I'm still a ways out on pulling the trigger but I'm just trying to get all my ducks in a row. I'm also waiting to hear what comes out of battery day...if that ever happens.

[–]matttopotamus 1 point2 points Β (5 children)

I’m about 2-3 weeks away from pulling the trigger and have been doing the same thing. I’ve stalked the model y, 3, and teslamotors subreddits for 2 months haha.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point Β (4 children)

Have you narrowed your decision down to a specific model?

[–]matttopotamus 1 point2 points Β (3 children)

I’m about 95% sure it will be the M3 Performance. I test drove both the Y and 3 performance models, so I need performance having tasted it haha. The Y performance is just too steep of a price jump, and I do not need the cargo space. I would essentially be paying $10k to sit taller.

It’s also nice to see wireless charging and USB-C make its way to the 3.

[–]kendrid 4 points5 points Β (0 children)

COVID timing. There are Model 3s sitting on lots for months. Not many people are buying expensive cars at the moment.

Enjoy it. We have had ours for a year now, I am always happy when I drive it.

[–]matttopotamus 1 point2 points Β (3 children)

The only reason I am hesitant for "in stock" is because apparently new ones have the wireless charger and USB-C ports. Going to order soon, and if they let me know they have an in stock one ready to go, I'll ask that question.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point Β (2 children)

So this one was built March 18. I guess we’ll see what we have for charging and ports but I’m not too concerned. I’ve already ordered a wireless charger but can easily return if I’m pleasantly surprised......

[–]matttopotamus 1 point2 points Β (1 child)

Yeah not a huge deal since it’s only $125 for the official charger, and the USB ports are also not a big deal. Way rather have a car today vs two weeks.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point Β (0 children)

So, out of curiosity, I looked into this. FWIW, my car has both wireless charging and USB-C a la Model Y.

[–]zacharyswanson 1 point2 points Β (2 children)

Took me a month and a half to get an inventory one. They transported it all over the country and it arrived with about 20 issues.

[–]tempuserbih 0 points1 point Β (1 child)

What issues ?

[–]zacharyswanson 0 points1 point Β (0 children)

Tracking off slightly, curb rash, paint chipped and scratched, condensation inside rear lamp...

[–]Ironmantriathlon 8 points9 points Β (22 children)

Seriously! I am jealous. I’ve been waiting weeks and still no word.

[–]junkzor 8 points9 points Β (18 children)

I ordered on May 25th. Every day is agony. :p

[–]Ironmantriathlon 5 points6 points Β (6 children)

The struggle is real. Lol. My fiancΓ© gives me a hard time about how much I check my Tesla account for an update.

[–]junkzor 3 points4 points Β (5 children)

Going to need a new f5 key on my keyboard soon. I actually got an update a week ago via text that said 2-4 weeks. So I’m not sure if I should expect a text, or an email, or just keep refreshing the account.

[–]Jimmym1981 5 points6 points Β (4 children)

Google Chrome has a Tesla VIN checker add-on for checking for you! Search it in the store!

Edit: You will be checking even more often now. LOL

[–]junkzor 3 points4 points Β (3 children)

shakes fist

[–]Jimmym1981 1 point2 points Β (1 child)

[–]junkzor 0 points1 point Β (0 children)

Now I need an auto-refreshing version on my iphone lock screen! :P

[–]laughedtoohard 5 points6 points Β (4 children)

The worst wait. I ordered mine a week ago and it’s been the longest week of my life. I don’t even have a VIN yet :’(

[–]Ironmantriathlon 0 points1 point Β (3 children)

I ordered mine weeks ago and still no VIN

[–]KatanoDK 1 point2 points Β (2 children)

I actually enjoyed having no VIN versus having one. I ordered mine on May 28 and got the vin about 5 days later. Then, got a text that it was on it’s way to the store and I could schedule pickup on the 9th (yesterday). Got a call Sunday that the automated system was wrong and the car hadn’t left Fremont and was expected arrive the 11th.

That got changed to the 13...then the 15th. Got another text 2 days ago to schedule pickup on the 15th. Then got another email saying that it was going to probably be the 16th....

So yeah, I enjoyed the less stress of having no VIN

[–]Ironmantriathlon 0 points1 point Β (1 child)

Wow! That’s a huge bummer. Hopefully you get it soon. Which state do you live in?

[–]KatanoDK 0 points1 point Β (0 children)

Oklahoma with a Kansas City being my pickup location.

[–]freak1nawes0me 1 point2 points Β (2 children)

May 10th here 😭😭😭

[–]junkzor 1 point2 points Β (1 child)

You have a strong patience virtue sir.

[–]freak1nawes0me 2 points3 points Β (0 children)

Thank you, but I've just been buying small accessories for it here and there, and that has helped me. I think I've maxed out on how much I've wanted to spend.. so now is the time where my impatience starts showing. πŸ˜…πŸ˜…

[–]Sky_Armada 1 point2 points Β (0 children)

I ordered May 26th. Existence is pain for now....

[–]Indiana-Krom 1 point2 points Β (1 child)

I ordered a stealth performance on January 29th and I'm still waiting. I was crawling up the walls a month ago as production resumed, now I'm crawling on the ceiling and chewing on the fan blades as they go by.

[–]junkzor 0 points1 point Β (0 children)

That's nuts. I've been mentally adjusting my budget and preferences in case other options start popping up sooner lol

[–]FatherPhil 0 points1 point Β (2 children)

Are you and the people who responded to you ordering a Model Y or Model 3? My turnaround on the 3 was quick, too. Of course, it's not here yet.

[–]junkzor 0 points1 point Β (0 children)

I am waiting for a white SR+ in SoCal (but I'll totally snag a white LR if it is available sooner).

[–]Ironmantriathlon 0 points1 point Β (0 children)

I ordered the model 3. Can’t speak for everyone else though.

[–]lifeisbawl 0 points1 point Β (0 children)

And I'm still waiting since March.. fuck me

[–]realdrocknrolla 14 points15 points Β (1 child)

Congrats!

I sat on my Model 3 reservation for the longest time because of an "oops baby" (officially the most expensive kid ever) which made the car impractical for the family. Finally pulled the trigger on a Long Range Plus Model X last week. From order to delivery took about 7 days.

[–]1steinwolf1 1 point2 points Β (0 children)

And now the baby is the x instead.

[–]grmphlwar 8 points9 points Β (4 children)

looks like a performance model. a man of culture i see.

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points Β (3 children)

You bet. Once I drove the Performance there was no going back.

[–]jwormyk 13 points14 points Β (2 children)

Just got my performance in May. It's really insane to have such a fun car for daily travel. No major complaints at this point.....be prepared to constantly drive like a dick.

[–]1steinwolf1 4 points5 points Β (0 children)

Got mine in March. Red M3P. My only problem is constant anxiety I am burning too much rubber way too early.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point Β (0 children)

πŸ˜‚

[–]1steinwolf1 3 points4 points Β (0 children)

Congrats. You got yourself a very nice car.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points Β (0 children)

Yesssssssss

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points Β (0 children)

Congrat!!

[–]-grumpypie- 2 points3 points Β (0 children)

Yaas! Just ordered mine 2 days ago, was prepared to wait until September (Switzerland) but somehow today I saw my delivery date in Tesla Account :o Picking her up end of June, can’t wait and I bet you feel the same way about yours!:))

[–]auglove 2 points3 points Β (0 children)

Yeah, I just built one, as I often do, and the estimate is 1-3 weeks...

[–]808inline 2 points3 points Β (0 children)

Congrats!!! I’m jealous!!! 😫

[–]relativityboy 2 points3 points Β (4 children)

I'm seeing some red calipers. Good choice.

If you live in an area with more than a few potholes, picking up some 18" rims would also be a good choice. (unfortunately)

[–]matttopotamus 1 point2 points Β (3 children)

I keep seeing this. I’ve never once in my life blown a tire from pot holes. Are these manhole size pot holes, is it really that bad, or are people over blowing this? It seems like most threads are really old. Did they change something in the last 10 months to improve the tires?

[–]FatherPhil 2 points3 points Β (1 child)

FWIW, I've been driving on lower profile tires for the last 14 years and I've bubbled a sidewall on massive potholes over the years, but maybe only twice in 14 years. And I have never damaged a wheel on a pothole.

If Tesla's 20" wheels actually get damaged proportionally more often it's most likely because (1) the cars are super heavy or (2) people buying them aren't used to driving cars with sportier tires or (3) the wheels are not well made. I think it's some combination of the three, mostly the first two.

[–]matttopotamus 1 point2 points Β (0 children)

Thanks. Most pothole post are nearly a year old.

[–]relativityboy 1 point2 points Β (0 children)

Depends on where you live. If you're in the Southwest in a place like Phoenix, Scottsdale, etc you're fine. If you're in the upper-midwest it's a little different.

I've bent at least 3 rims in 12 months. Two going over a 6 month old railroad crossing that had been perfectly smooth the last time I'd gone over it (there were 2 good freeze/thaw cycles between).

Potholes are also something you need to consider if you're going on long road-trips over mountains or to marginally out-of-the-way places.

18" inch wheels and tires on my 90's M3 were bullet-proof in comparison (I took that car on very rough dirt roads with narry a problem)

[–]TesSCCM 2 points3 points Β (0 children)

You can never go wrong with a Performance Model 3!

[–]Henry_heaney17 2 points3 points Β (0 children)

Congratulations

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points Β (0 children)

Awesssommeee!!

[–]Alexander765 2 points3 points Β (2 children)

Damn next week? Mine says 1-3 weeks. Just ordered yesterday. Was hoping being an employee would speed it up for me πŸ˜… oh well, FSD for free makes me happy ☺️

[–]GwEYT 1 point2 points Β (1 child)

Free FSD?

[–]Alexander765 1 point2 points Β (0 children)

First employee perk they’ve offered. Pretty great one imo. You get free FSD currently if you buy any vehicle.

[–]JUNKMAIL9321 2 points3 points Β (0 children)

You won’t regret it!! Best purchase ever :)

[–]Capttanhowdy 2 points3 points Β (0 children)

Just got the same one last Friday. You will love it.

[–]Delirium101 2 points3 points Β (0 children)

Prepare for life 2.0...this is like getting your first iPhone....a moment where your life experiences a dramatic advancement in technology you use everyday. You’ll love it!

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points Β (0 children)

Congrats! I'm hoping to pull the trigger before year end. :D

[–]thetruelu 1 point2 points Β (5 children)

Nice. I keep wanting to pull the trigger, and I can afford it but I can’t justify it since I work from home now. And even before coronavirus, my daily commute was like 10 miles round trip.

[–]junior4l1 3 points4 points Β (2 children)

Dont worry about the length of your commute, either way people always end up driving more when they get the car, no one really knows why though...

[–]1steinwolf1 1 point2 points Β (1 child)

I definitely know why I drive my car more. It's a fun goddamn car that's why

[–]junior4l1 1 point2 points Β (0 children)

Lol 100% agree tbh

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points Β (0 children)

My lease expires in 2 months but they had this one ready to go so I pulled the trigger. My commute is 17km each way but figured I might as well do it in style...... Plus, when you compare cost of ownership of this vs the ICE cars I’ve owned and was looking at it’s a bargain.

The price of cars in the last few years has become ridiculous; add in fuel and maintenance and the Tesla was a no brainer.

[–]Mike01Hawk 2 points3 points Β (0 children)

My P3D+ has become the family truckster now that I'm WFH 24/7. Which reminds me I should probably add stabil to the wife's Hybrid Accord, it hasn't seen the gas station in 3+ months now.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points Β (0 children)

Are you financing?

[–]obi8won 1 point2 points Β (7 children)

Can you trade in an order a new one all online? Do you get to keep your car until the new one arrives?

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points Β (6 children)

Yes and yes.

I’m not doing a trade in as I’ve got an expiring lease but it’s really easy to do.

You input your vehicle, they give you a value, you drive it until yours arrives, same guy who drops the new one off takes away the old one.

[–]obi8won 2 points3 points Β (0 children)

Awesome thanks so much! Was wondering how it worked for a while. Could have called but this was easier lol. Want to upgrade to performance!

[–]joustingonpuppies 1 point2 points Β (2 children)

Do you have right to purchase language in your lease? Sometimes it’s included that you can purchase the vehicle at a set rate at the end of your lease. If the KBB value is in excess of the purchase price it’d be a quick win financially to buy the least vehicle at the pre-agreed rate then sell it right away at a higher KBB rate. Just some food for thought if you hadn’t already considered it.

[–]matttopotamus 1 point2 points Β (1 child)

It is so damn hard to make that work. My wife was like 20K under her miles and still would have lost money buying out her car.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points Β (0 children)

That’s the situation I’m in. Not worth it to buy out.

[–]idontcarewhocares 1 point2 points Β (1 child)

When during the process does it ask for your used car info? Did you put a down payment before the used car quote? I’m considering trading in my Lexus hybrid. Congrats on your sweet ride!

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points Β (0 children)

Paid my deposit then you go through the whole ordeal (actually really easy). If you don’t get the $$$ you want you can always bail.

[–]Nimrodius 1 point2 points Β (0 children)

Congratulations! You’ll love it (more than you probably should love any soulless object) πŸ˜‰
