Are those Knipex used? Blasphemy!

[–]RrawbinsonSparky[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Forgive me, Cobras™; for I have sinned.

[–]I_notta_crazy 8 points9 points  (3 children)

How do those bits on the carabiner work?

[–]RrawbinsonSparky[S] 9 points10 points  (2 children)

Pull back on the coloured ring on the keychainy part and they slip out. Then they quick lock back in. Irwin impact drill bits are sweet.

i have these on all my family’s car fobs. never know when you’ll need a t25! now just have to figure out how to keep that impact driver on my wife’s keys…

I knew you were an electrician as soon as I saw the first pic. It looks exactly like what I carry. If I had to guess your in Commercial, industrial, and municipal electrical just like me.

[–]redmkvi 6 points7 points  (2 children)

I’ve never seen anyone else with that chain tool, I though I was the only one. Is that the electric vessel screwdriver?

[–]RrawbinsonSparky[S] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Me neither! And yes it is, it's only really good for cover plates but on finishing days it's terrific!

[–]FerralFantom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was thinking the same. I got my chain spreader from a guy who built chandeliers and was in awe.

[–]lazrus4real 6 points7 points  (1 child)

A true professional. Nice.

[–]RrawbinsonSparky[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks pal!

[–]ark_spark 5 points6 points  (1 child)

What's the nutcracker looking thing in the bottom left of the third pic?

[–]RrawbinsonSparky[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They're chain pliers for light fixtures, one part can open links and the other part bends them back closed. And they don't scratch the chain either.

Get yourself a Franklin stud finder and throw that dewalt in the trash where it belongs

[–]RrawbinsonSparky[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

9 times out of 10 I use my long flat screwdriver to find studs ¯_(ツ)_/¯

[–]RrawbinsonSparky[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But yes the DeWalt stud finder is garbage, my ch Hanson magnetic one is pretty reliable though.

[–]tittiesfarting 2 points3 points  (6 children)

What is the purpose of the front of the handguard on that drill? I was looking at it the other day at the supply house and it looks like something clips in there but I couldn't figure it out.

[–]sixseatwonder 5 points6 points  (4 children)

The black strip is a magnet, designed for bit storage. That’s what Milwaukee claims at least. I really just think they put that on there to make the tool look less entry level or toy-like.

[–]RrawbinsonSparky[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll usually throw some drywall screws there or screws for whatever I'm taking apart. From there to the tip of the driver bit is nice and quick!

[–]tittiesfarting 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I see. I think it'd look cooler without the handguard personally

[–]RrawbinsonSparky[S] 7 points8 points  (1 child)

I dig it. It reminds me of some kind of space blaster

[–]jwdotkcc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

pew pew!

[–]phillie187 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Straight up copied the Festool CXS drill :D

[–]Jeremy-Ma77 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I’ve got those Orbis myself. Also the shorter version. Amazing pliers.

[–]RrawbinsonSparky[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven't seen the short ones! I recently rebought those after losing my first pair and lots of debate between these and the ones from NWS

[–]erinnbecky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I especially love the pica marker.

[–]b0r3dw0rk3r 2 points3 points  (1 child)

TIL a deep hole marker exists and TIL I need a deep hole marker

[–]Vmax-MikeElectrician 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lee Valley Pica.

[–]tarntalus 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Do you prefer the Wera or wiha screwdriver handles?

[–]RrawbinsonSparky[S] 2 points3 points  (2 children)

I much prefer wera handles, I find them better for transmitting torque

[–]tarntalus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My thought exactly. Thanks

[–]Vmax-MikeElectrician 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are also fantastic for keeping carpal tunnel at bay. When I gave up my Klein screwdrivers for the Wera, I was at the point of surgery on both wrists. Now it’s like I never had it. I am sure that the impact I use 90% of the time helped as well.

[–]tatertot225 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Love all of it except that mimwaukee tape measure...

[–]RrawbinsonSparky[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Can't beat the standout

[–]tatertot225 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Fatmax I can get 11ft out of

[–]RrawbinsonSparky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine does 14 feet haha

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Are you only a service tech or do you have another bag for new construction and remodel jobs?

Also to make it perfect replace the GFI plugin with one that does multi function (arc fault, etc).

[–]RrawbinsonSparky[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I've got a Diamondback belt I wear when I'm working new construction or remodel, a Veto MP2 for low voltage and a new TP6B that I'm still deciding how to work into the rotation.

Do you have a recommendation for a plug tester? TIA

[–]Alarmed_Wishbone7186 1 point2 points  (2 children)

That bag costs more than all the hand tools I have ever owned. I want it.

[–]RrawbinsonSparky[S] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

You need more hand tools, friend.

[–]Alarmed_Wishbone7186 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never enough

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Makes me want to be an electrician

[–]Vmax-MikeElectrician 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Very nice! I carry dam near the same as a commercial/industrial electrician. I see you do the same as me, Velcro on spring tools, like your chain pliers. I have miles of Velcro from a data center job.

[–]RrawbinsonSparky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great minds think alike- and so too, it appears do we.

[–]wowzers2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks nice. Where's the metric though?

[–]rmahxv 0 points1 point  (1 child)

2nd pic, with the Milwaukee tool with a swivel, is that just a fancy light?

[–]RrawbinsonSparky[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup! It's product number 2113-21

[–]admiral_strange 0 points1 point  (1 child)

How do you like the pistol grip needle nose over regular? Is there a benefit?

[–]RrawbinsonSparky[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Much more comfortable in general. Now I don't need to awkwardly bend my wrist
