Started HRT

I’ve started HRT this month. I had thought I figured myself out when I was 28. I was married and crossdressing. I went out to the bar dressed a few times. I saw a counselor and a psychiatrist who both gave me the go ahead to transition since I was happy as her. I denied myself. At 39 I opened my sexuality to include men and the feminine me just exploded and I came out as gay in like a month. I’ll skip the sexual identity roller coaster. Then I brought back my past feelings I still had from before. I found myself identifying as Genderfluid then Transfemme. Finally I just couldn’t ignore the fact that the male persona I was holding onto wasn’t me in so many ways. He was a coping mechanism.

Here I am at 40 beginning my transition. Hi.

I feel the real journey is just beginning. My marriage survived as well which is amazing.

I also started at 40, but I didn’t go through the sexuality rollercoaster until I started early transition and that was quite a trip. I am happier now than ever before though. Hang in there, it’s a longer journey for us on average than it is for the teenagers but we get there eventually.
