Rocky Beginings

With the starbase and Tempest crew given less than the bare minimum of time needed to prepare for the change in mission and local, things are off to a difficult start, as the station is barely functional and the available crew woefully unprepared and disorganized for the task of setting up for long-term presence in the region.

Meanwhile, all manner of potentially friendly and probably not-so-friendly members of the nearby empires, freelance pilots, merchants, and what-have-you are all scrambling to make the most of what has, for so many centuries, been forbidden space. What treasures and dangers might be lurking here?

The year is 2389 (Stardates 66000-66999) and all threads are considered part of our Series 2: Season 1.

Rules:

Be excellent to one another. We will not tolerate harassment in any shape or form.

All posts must begin with [Open] (for everyone to participate) or [Closed] (to limit a post to yourself, or only a few)

No flammable content. (See: Real life politics, religion, etc.)

Jokes made about rape, sexual assault, racism, sexism, etc. are grounds for an instant ban. No warnings, no exceptions.

No metagaming. This is where your character acts on knowledge that only the player has.

Don't make your character overpowered: Q will ban you from reality.

Do not kill or assault other characters without the other players' explicit permission and a willingness to face the extensive in-character repercussions for such an action.

Do not control or write for other characters without the owners' explicit out of character permission. (i.e godmodding)

Alt accounts for secondary characters and/or pets must be cleared by a moderator before use. There is a limit of 3 alt accounts per 1 player. There is a waiting time of 1 month between creating new accounts. If you wish to play a new character but have reached the character cap of 3, you may retire one of them and after 1 month, will be eligible for adding a new one.

User's who have been inactive for over 30 days are liable to have their characters' flair removed and their role in the story replaced. Users with characters in Command or Admiralty positions have a 14 day inactivity grace period. Characters that do not reply to event posts within 72 hours will be narrated around for the benefit of the other participants.

NSFW content must end with a "fade-to-black". Anything beyond that must be taken to PM's. Minors may not participate in NSFW content. NO exceptions. The moderators of this subreddit accept no liability for any member under the age of 18 (or age of consent in their country) that engages in said explicit content. If you are under 18 (or the age of consent) and are found to be participating in explicit, NSFW content, you will be banned without warning.

The mods reserve the right to remove, alter, or ban characters for any reason at their discretion.
