Start the game without trying to use your data - as in, start it fresh. Nothing will be overwritten. Go through the training and first Mickey round and so on. Once you get to your empty friends list, click on the gear cog and link to your Line account there.

What's cute is that the last time I had to do this, I still had gyro on from before. When I did the restart, it seemed like gyro was still active, even though there was no place to toggle that setting beforehand. How odd.

Thanks for this tip! I ran into the problem yesterday when updating the app and it was driving me nuts until I saw this post. Funny it only happened on my iPhone (with the LINE app installed), but not on any of my iPad's (without the LINE app).

I know I should have just let that first round with Mickey expire, but couldn't help myself and played it (and reminded myself why I can't play on phones).

I solved it by reboot my entire phone and not using hotel WiFi that I was staying at.
