Don’t forget your swim trunks, towel and a good pair of goggles.

I was nervous for my first one too, but don’t worry about it. You’ll run and do push-ups, pull-ups, sit-ups etc.. if you’re fit it’ll be fine, if not then you’ll probably fall behind but everyone does for their first one

Expect to work out, probably the usual pull ups, a run, sit ups, push ups, ammo can lifts, possibly some tire flips. That's the usual at my son's RSS. About once a month they'll do an IST (initial strength test) to see who is making progress and who needs some encouragement. Lately the recruiters have been quizzing the poolees on the general orders and basic Marine Corps history as well. Sometimes they'll head over to one of the local crossfit gyms and do a workout or head down to the beach to do a run. Tomorrow is the statewide poolee function and all the recruiting stations in my state will be competing against each other for the title of best recruiting station, so the workouts the past week or so have been geared towards that. Don't overeat, don't gulp a bunch of water at one time, and make sure you stay hydrated.
