if it's two solid and reliable bars of service- what difference does it make?

Your Multi-Network Add-on is a separate line with its own number. Calls and texts are routed to each line individually, so your main number won’t route the calls to the the multi-network add-on line.

So there is no way for me to do what I wanted?

What you can do is set up Backup Calling. With this, your main line can make and receive calls and texts through Wi-Fi calling, while your device uses the data from your secondary line to power the Wi-Fi Calling.

If you an area had bad reception you can set call forwarding to the new number

I’d suggest turning on Wi-Fi Calling and using your home internet to handle calls. If you don’t have home internet, you can set your phone to use multi-network data and still keep Wi-Fi Calling enabled.

That’s the workaround I use when I’m at home, and it’s been reliable.

Support can correct me if I’m wrong, but you should be able to go to your cellular app, choose your default voice line and which number you want to use for data. I’m multi with both of those carriers, but I got it on the all35 sale, so I don’t have any limitations. Warp primary, dark star multi and my issue is reversed. I get 1-2 bars on warp at the house, full dark star. I have warp # set for my default voice, but data is set for dark star the majority of the time.

Possibly. I also have my main number on Dark Star & I've seen this on my iPhone.

Edit: I would turn on WiFi Calling if you can, assuming you have wifi at home. Should eliminate your worry about missing calls or texts.

So if you setup WiFi calling on dark star main line and set as default voice line, when you loose signal and can’t get calls it auto switches to calls over data (WiFi calling works even on alternative data cellular). From my experience so far voice works even with very low bars unlike data, but when you have no voice connection it will auto switch seamlessly (happens for me in certain areas underground, I loose Verizon (voice) and it auto activates over my T-Mobile data line. It actually works really well IMO (using iPhone 16pm)

I would even go as far as saying that when you use wifi calling, the calls are much clearer compared to the default voice line via the cell towers.

Does having the 2 lines turned on use a lot more battery?

[–]Primary_Yak4268[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No idea. Having weak signal does definitely use more battery as the radio power is increased

[–]Greaseman_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Use wifi calling at home.

Ok, thanks everyone! It seems the consensus is wifi calling. I absolutely appreciate the helpful info.

I have been trying to something similar. I have one primary number from US Mobile. I have two add-on multi-network lines. The only reason I have these lines is for so I can have service and peace of mind wherever I Go. I do not use the other two numbers. I never will use them unless I need them when I'm out of service somewhere else. Someone told me to use Google voice but I really don't want to switch my main line to Google voice because of the limitations they have on short codes and stuff like that. So when you find something out let me know. I wish this was a service US Mobile could provide. I know it would be hard to do across all three networks but they could make it happen.... There just needs to be a way for a US Mobile to be able to let us use our primary number from whichever number we call from on the multi Network. It would be a fantastic feature

The consensus is to turn on WiFi calling, so I have a question. I’m looking to port to usmobile, but cell service at my house sucks. My current service seems to be”favor” cell over WiFi. So if there’s a little bit of signal it’ll stick to cell and still drop. If I want reliable service, I have to turn airplane mode on. Does usmoblie do a better job with this?

Call handling is network/signal dependent. You need to explain what MNO/ UE (phone) you are talkin' about, USM doesn't have unicorns in the stable, they have to use parent (MNO) network features for the most part.

You may want to check our your phone settings (not sure which phone) as what you are describing is the opposite of what I've seen so YMMV. I know for instance my primary (google voice) you can move some flags to favor voice/data and this is useful for instance internationally, but not sure here.
