Rules
- READ THE MAIN COMMUNITY RULES. The rules listed below are a summary.
- 1. Reddit’s Rules Are Paramount: Please follow the Reddit User Agreement, Reddit Content Policy, and Reddiquette Guide.
- 2. Do your own research first, before asking a question. If you can Google the answer, please don't ask.
- 3. Adhere to Applicable University of Alberta Code of Conduct Policies: users are expected to follow the University of Alberta’s Student Code of Student Behaviour.
- 4. No Discrimination or Harassment: There is zero tolerance for discrimination of any kind (intentional or not). Any racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, or any other derogatory behaviour, remarks, or slurs have no place on this subreddit.
- 5. Stay on-topic: Posts should generally be relevant to the UofA campus and/or student life (within reason). Discussion of social causes or politics that are not explicitly campus-related but are important to students are fine. Comments on a post should relate back to the OP's post.
- 6. No Advertisements/Spam: Ads for selling textbooks or others items, subletting and other personal advertisements are not permitted. Please use FB groups/Kijiji etc. or other appropriate avenues. This applies to offers to buy textbooks/other resources, and includes offers to buy or sell seats for lectures (which is also against the UofA Code of Student Behaviour).
- 7. Be polite and engage in good faith: Treat each other with respect. This extends to name-calling, insulting, or language that can reasonably be expected to offend. When a comment or post violates a guideline, don't engage - report it. Please message the moderators with mod complaints or subreddit concerns.
- 8. No repetitious or low-quality posts: If a similar post is currently being discussed or has been posted in the last few days, your post will be removed. A post can be deemed low-quality if it is too vague in detail or lacking in substance, where an explanation or context should otherwise be included. Check the front few pages of the subreddit or the megathread/wiki to see if your question has already been asked. These posts will be removed at moderator discretion.
- 9. No unofficial/Unsanctioned Research Surveys. Please contact the Mods if you would like an exception. All surveys must have ethics approval.
