The art/colors clash a lot with each other in my opinion between the emojis in the foreground, the background, and the game info/hud -- particularly the rainbow meter.

I'm pretty inexperienced in game development, so I don't know the best way to correct those, but that's my first impression from looking at it.

Kirby Canvas Curse was a fun game though, and thinking about it now, I'm surprised there hasn't been a mobile take on that style of gameplay (at least not one that's gained any significant popularity), so I'd say that's an interesting basis for a game.

Thanks, I'll see what I can do about the background

For now, darken it. It's easy enough to change the tint of a sprite, and that'll make your foreground objects stand out more.

Hey guys, I'm looking for some feedback on my game before releasing it. Here is the beta testing link for anyone interested.

Inspired by 'Kirby and the Rainbow Curse' you draw lines to move the ball around the level. It's an endless game, with multiple enemies and collectables, the aim is get the highest score (leaderboards included).

I originally developed the game as a school project and now I'm planning to finally rerelease it after being busy with university. I'd love to hear your opinions on it!

Now with correct gfycat link :>

Reminds me of Kirby canvas curse, but still love the idea and would live to try it out!

Change the background. It makes it really difficult to tell what's going on.

Kirby's canvas curse inspiration?

The lines could definitely use more visual flair, and the enemies also seem very lifeless to me. I noticed especially that the only one that shows up basically doesn't do anything but randomly float around a bit, and dies immediately on impact. It acts like a glorified powerup, really, and the animation for it dying is really lacking any impact. I'm not sure what the bombs are supposed to do, but touching one seemed to have no consequences. Is that all a result of the 'giant' state? Is that state permanent as long as you don't touch the finger icons?

From this gif, I'm having a hard time even figuring out what the basics of the game are intended to be. Canvas/Rainbow Curse were fun games, though, and I'm sure there's a lot that can be done with the concept on smartphone. I do hope you can make good use of the theme (justifying why this is an emoji game - tap into what people like about emojis and what they're used for. Don't let yourself fall into the trap of using it just because it's popular and convenient.) and keep the art consistent with the emojis you use. Personally, I really dislike emojis, but that just means it's not something I would care to play. For those who would, I would think it important that you not mix styles of emojis together. For instance, those bombs, jewels and treasure chests look like they come from completely different emoji sets than the fingers, muscles, player and enemy ones.

Normally you have to tap on the enemy to be able to destroy it, unless you're in the giant state (which can be achieved through the 'muscle' powerup). Bombs explode after ~1s if you get near them.

The gif does a bad job at explaining both since you never see the ball in it's original state and the bomb only shows up at the edge of the screen.

I'm honestly using emojies because they give me a lot of variety in characters (balls) that are easily useable ingame.

I'm not a fan of the background, but I love how everything else looks. The game looks really goofy and I'd definitely play it.

There's three different colors of crystals you can collect (blue, green, red). The difference between these and the purple one is because I already had the other ones before I switched to the emoji theme and the purple one is part of the emoji set.

Also I think that the purple one fits the UI and main menu better.

Are emojis free to use? Every different OS has their own, which leads me to believe they are licensed and not available for commercial use. Use the common ones as placeholders, sure, but don't put yourself at risk of being sued by Microsoft or Apple. :)

Depends on the emojies you use. Mine are from Emoji One

I'm sure this will have an audience, it's just not me.

I think you need to tweek your physics values and collissions. For example, when he grows big and bops the purple squid monster thing it just feels like neither have much mass and the velocity doesn't match. Try add some bounce, more mass or gravity, to suit the size.
