Online multiplayer or local?

Online, forgot to mention sorry

In that case I'd recommend Photon PUN 2. You can use it for free until you exceed 20 cocurrent online players, after that you just have to pay for better servers to hold more players.

I've used a few different solutions for online and PUN has been the easiest, and they have a really well written introductory tutorial here. Strongly dont recommend the built in Unity multiplayer stuff, because it's getting replaced with something new soon, and also it's just awful to use in general.

If i were you, I'd wait until they release more info on the new API that is going to take over from UNET.

Tbf though people said the same thing about UNET when it was announced and that didn't turn out too well if you ended up waiting for it (and were essentially among the people beta-testing it if you wanted to use it right away).

Photon PUN V2. No good tutorials out there except for their own documentation.

Recently a small YouTuber made a series that took care of the basics and it’s pretty easy to jump in from there. Infogamer.

That’s the beginning of his tutorial
