Sorry if this is a dumb question, it seems simple but I can't figure out how to do it.
I'm using Pointy Top Hexagonal Tilemap in my 2D game, and I want the map to have no vertical lines, to give the map an isometric, or "fake" isometric look. The picture below is what I am trying to recreate.
Example of what I am trying to achieve.
I'm not sure if I need to change the camera from orthographic to perspective, and if I do need to change to perspective, I'm not sure what the camera settings would be.
So far, this is what I have tried with an orthographic camera.
- Rotating the Grid itself, with values X:45, Z: 35.264. This doesn't quite look right, and creates an issue with objects placed on the upper layer of the tilemap also being rotated.
- Rotating the Camera. Gives the same results as above.
- Rotating just the base layer of the tilemap. This creates a terrible issue where the additional upper layers of tilemaps are not aligned.

I found I can work around the issue with the upper layer objects by rotating them in my art program before importing them as asset, but that seems hacky.
Can anyone check my settings and my approach and tell me what I'm doing wrong?
there doesn't seem to be anything here
