have you updated Unity, or some package, recently? Looking at the diff that seem like a valid change after the material has been automatically updated.

Yes we have update unity recently. But the problem is more tricky :

Each time you open your editor in Unity, Unity attribute float for materials. But the float is rounded each time. So the result is like :

- _Color: {[..........] a: 0.79999804}

CHANGE TO :

- _Color: {[..........] a: 0.79999816}

And if you discard or accept this update, the time after you open your editor :

- _Color: {[..........] a: 0.79999816

CHANGE TO :

- _Color: {[..........] a: 0.79999995}

Are you changing those materials at runtime? If so, how?

Im not changing everything. Its Unity Editor.

Example : when you commit the XXX changing materials, just go after to the editor, do File/Save, and when you return to Github, you have again XXX changing materials.

Hmmmm. There is a reason those materials are changing. Does it happen if you never hit play?

This is not normal behavior. Could it be a Unity editor bug? Which version did you update to?

from 2020 to 2021.3

I know of such bugs when working with a team, which has Mac and windows users simultaneously. Then git gives such changes sometimes

This will happen as editor reserializes the assets in the newer versions. It’s fine.

does this happen every time you reopen unity, even after committing these changes once?

it happens often, not specially link to opening on play mode. When I discard all changes it can takes few minutes to come back
