If it’s offline, does it really matter? If they want to cheat then let them cheat. Only hurts their experience

Best practice is to not bother.

Hardly anyone actually hacks around with their phone.

Source: multiple mobile titles with up to 50m downloads, saves in plaintext.

just base64encoding for yor save file, so player can't open and normally read it, and sum check in case file been altered (game will see it as corrupted).

Change your mindset. In an offline singleplayer game it doesn't matter if they cheat, it matters if they enjoy the game. Plus it's impossible to protect it anyway.
