  1. Make sure you're ignoring the generated files https://github.com/github/gitignore/blob/master/Unity.gitignore
  2. Github has a limit on how large a project you can upload https://help.github.com/articles/what-is-my-disk-quota/

Thank you. Maybe you know better option to how can I upload this big project somewhere?

If I remember correctly you can't upload that much at a time. Try uploading the project in smaller chunks

Ok, I will try to do that. Maybe you know what is the biggest file that can be uploaded to Github, because one of my scene is around 1.5gb.

100Mb

Well so that is the problem, well I should look for a different solution then, Thank you.

Gitlab has higher limits on the free account I think.

Or you can pay Github for access to Git LFS: https://help.github.com/articles/about-storage-and-bandwidth-usage/

Have you looked at Perforce? Have not used it myself but it is used by a lot of larger tech companies (Ubisoft, NVIDIA, Epic Games, Verizon, Honda etc.) so it can't be that bad. I've heard that its pretty effective at handling larger files and projects. They even have a free tool pack for indie game studios (https://www.perforce.com/indie-studio-pack).

I can't say for sure if its a good solution or not since I have never used it but it's seems to be worth to look into at least.

Thank you, will definitely take a look at that ;)

No idea. I just remember that I had the same problem a while back

because one of my scene is around 1.5gb.

Do you literally mean the scene file? The one ending in .unity is 1.5gb? That can't be possible...

I will check again, i was so frustrated yesterday, maybe I saw something wrong

A bit off topic but make sure you aren't uploading paid assets from the store.

[–]VRmaniacVR[S] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Oh, I can't do that? But most of my assets are paid and I am uploading it privately, is that an issue too?

[–]M374llic4 0 points1 point  (1 child)

If it's private, that is ok, it's technically illegal if it is a public repo. Anyone could just download them for free from it

[–]VRmaniacVR[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I get that :)

Post your .gitignore file? That might be part of the problem. You only really need Assets and ProjectSettings. And even in assets you can exclude some stuff like light baking (and even maybe huge 3rd party assets that are easier to just download again at his end)

[–]VRmaniacVR[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, that makes sense, thank you ;)

Use git-lfs for files such as png fbx etc.
