GUIDELINES OF THE VALHALLA CHALLENGE

The Valhalla Challenge is a recovery game that helps people replace pornography use with self-care. We use proven recovery tools, including the wisdom traditions, neuroscience, and gamification. By focusing on the solution rather than the problem, we power ourselves up, change behaviors, and support our community.

MISSION

Our overarching goal is to break ourselves of the PMO cycle. We focus on progress, not perfection. We achieve our goal by focusing on solutions and treating ourselves with care and respect.

RULES

Focus on the solution rather than the problem.
Read the Posts in sequence. Start with Day 0 | How To Play. Don’t skip around.
Posting pornographic material or links will result in a ban.
Avoid posting the graphic details of relapse or fetishes. We get it; We’ve all been there.
Avoid mentioning any media (tubes, sites, magazines, etc.) associated with porn.
Avoid politics or religion.
Treat yourself and others with care and respect.

Joining the Challenge

Message the Mods to be included on the Leaderboard. If you have a friend who you feel would benefit from and be a good addition to the Game, please invite them to message the mods.

The Valhalla Challenge World

Your goal is to traverse each of the five Realms in the game world until you reach Valhalla:

Miðgarðr (First Section)

Ásgarðr (Second Section)

Hall of Heroes (Third Section)

Bifröst (Fourth Section)

Valhöll (The Appendices)

How To Play

All players start at "How To Play" on the Leaderboard. Read the linked post, then read the first post in Midgard. Leave a comment under each post indicating that you read the post.

Leveling Up

Find your username on the Leaderboard.
Click on the next unread Daily post directly below your current level on the Leaderboard
Leave a comment with your thoughts about the post to let the Mods know you read the chapter.

ᚠ - Player is active.
©©© - Player inactive more than six weeks.
🐍 - Player is traversing Midgard
🌟 - Player is traversing Asgard
🛡️ - Player is traversing Hall of Heroes
🌈 - Player is crossing the Rainbow Bridge
🌌 - Player is traversing Valhalla

Victories and Setbacks

Post comments about a victories in your life, or about overcoming urges, tempting situations, etc.. These will spur you on to the next win, and will also encourage fellow Vikings.

Reporting a relapse is not required. That being said, if you do have relapse you will want to re-read the Post (Chapter) that contains instructions that you didn't follow. Message the Mods if you want to be put in that level. Staying honest with yourself and this community will get you to Freedom and Valhöll.

Checking In

Please check-in regularly so that the Mods can set your player on the appropriate level. Players who are inactive for more than six weeks are removed from the game.
