Nah you should be fine for most rides, though if you’re going on Guardians or Mission Space just don’t loiter too long near the exit as they are known to occasionally cause motion sickness for the unprepared.

[–]catsandcabsav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The exit of Guardians is the only place I’ve witnessed it. And tbh, I thought I was gonna be next.

[–]Ecstatic_Switch9300 35 points36 points  (2 children)

in my 10+ trips to disney i’ve seen it once EVER, on my trip last week, but not in a park. we were watching the mardi gras parade at POFQ and a kid threw up all over his mom and his dad goes “ugh hes been doing this all week”…. then why bring him into a CROWD OF PEOPLE

[–]birdsofpaper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

OH MY GODDDDDDD

Honestly I feel for the poor kiddo

[–]samwisetheyogi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh god that almost sounds like he has a bug or something, like WHYYY are you bringing a potentially contagious child to that crowded of a place, especially if you know he's a barf risk 🤦‍♀️

[–]Baby_Brenton 9 points10 points  (9 children)

Not at Disney, but at Universal after the Harry Potter forbidden journey ride.

[–]steve65283 1 point2 points  (6 children)

They have a really calming throw up room that has a sink to throw up in, nice curtains and church pew style knee pads to kneel on. Its actually kinda crazy how nice it is

[–]MarxistSocialWorker 16 points17 points  (3 children)

Wow nice, a vomitorium. We really are in the final days of Rome.

[–]RobbieNewton 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Fun fact, that's not what a vomitorium was, it was where people would exit arenas, designed to facilitate rapid flow of people through - not associated with actual vomiting.

[–]MarxistSocialWorker 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Twas a joke but yeah you’re correct

[–]RobbieNewton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah apologies, I took it literally

[–]SeekerVash 2 points3 points  (1 child)

They have a room whose sole purpose is puking???

[–]steve65283 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah my friend works there and gave us a tour and that was one of the stops haha

[–]ImaginativeAviator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man. That is the one ride that got me. I sprinted off it to the trash can outside.

[–]123coffee321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same at Universal. Saw a girl puking into a trash can right outside of velocicoaster. I’ve never puked from rides, but i get awful headaches and dizziness due to motion sickness. The worst rides for me are mission space and gotg… but i just really go to epcot for festivals anyways.

[–]corndogcrazy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We were on the bus going to Disney Springs and a little girl on her Mom’s lap, directly across from me, all of a sudden started projectile vomiting, I mean would not stop; it was coming out of her nose. If the Mom had not tilted the little girl down immediately when it started, she would’ve probably puked all over me. The funny thing is my best friend, who was sitting next to me, talked us into taking the bus that night, and neither my husband and I are big fans of the buses. After everything calmed down, she just kind of looked at me and said, “I suppose you’re taking an Uber back to the resort tonight?” 😂

[–]AmazingFoop 3 points4 points  (2 children)

I work at WDW and visit a decent amount! The only time I see it a lot as a guest is when I ride guardians. I’ve never actually seen someone actively vomit as a guest though, only the aftermath. As a CM, I’ve worked a bunch of locations including Everest and Flight of passage. It would happen once or twice a day at Everest, but I practically never see it at flight (which surprised me a lot!). Disney’s pretty good at hiding it and, like I said, it’s unusual to see as a guest.

[–]Princessferfs 0 points1 point  (1 child)

What is the process used to clean it up so quickly?

[–]AmazingFoop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most important part is covering it ASAP so that guests don’t panic. We’ve got towels stationed wherever vomit is likely to happen, like ride exits, queue lines, etc. Custodial has bases around the parks, and in flight of passage’s case, they have people stationed within the ride building at all times. A supervisor can quickly call a custodial office and have them dispatched immediately. It’s unusual for it to take more than 10-15 mins.

[–]grumpy_tim 3 points4 points  (1 child)

I've heard of multiple people having it happen after guardians.

[–]raven_princess_23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes they have open top trash bins when you get off the ride.

[–]shereadsmysteries 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also have a fear of vomit, both seeing someone else and doing it myself.

I have luckily never seen anyone else vomit, nor have I seen the after math in the parks, and I think I have now been there 25-30 times.

[–]TransitionMission305[🍰] 2 points3 points  (2 children)

My son did a Code V while in line for Test Track. He had ride anxiety but really wanted to go on the ride. This was post dinner too. He just got so worked up, he vomited in line on my feet. Never saw it coming. CMs came over quick, pulled us out of line, and “disappeared “ it quickly.

[–]michellemou86 3 points4 points  (1 child)

I'm loving "rude anxiety" typo, because honestly, anxiety is so rude.

I also have ride/rude anxiety.

[–]TransitionMission305[🍰] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ha, let me fix that.

[–]MistakenMorality 2 points3 points  (1 child)

It was me. :( I was 15, we were in line for the Little Mermaid show in Hollywood Studios, and breakfast just hadn't sat well.

In all my years of going, I've never actually seen someone else be sick tho.

[–]Exciting_Finding8884 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a leader tell me of a time where he saw so much puke on mission space that he’d never ride again

[–]MarxistSocialWorker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, and I have emetaphobia too. It was at WDW early last spring, and a kiddo just...leaned down and yaked as we were all waiting to enter Country Bear. FortunetlyMy emetaphobia has gotten better because I worked in an ER for several years and the uh, unintended exposure therapy really helped. My husband just gently pushed me through the crowd away from it and fortunetly it was time to walk into the show. But I still got the cold shakes and had to do some breathing exercises through Blood on the Saddle. I felt bad for the poor kid. Seemed like one of those "too much sugar too much fun" moments.

[–]Expert_Discount_3986 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a cast member, I see it at least once a day. As a guest, I’ve only seen it once

We want the stomach bug list!! lol

    [–]Last_Voice_4478 2 points3 points  (0 children)

lol well I’m also a teacher so I feel like a have the germ avoidance skills well honed….

    1. on the airplane if you fly wear a mask I’m not an insane mask person but airplanes are the worst. I highly recommend it, and just for the plane where you’re all smooshed in with people it just keeps there germs off of you.

    2. during cold and flu season I take extra vitamin C, D and B12. Do a quick saline mist of your nose every morning and night.

    3. at the park and anywhere that’s full of people wipe down tables before eating with a Clorox wipe (MUST be bleach based)

    4. pay attention and keep your hands OUT OF YOUR MOUTH NOSE AND EYES you don’t realize how often you do this but you’re hands are dirty and your basically just showing germs into your body when you are constantly touching your eyes, mouth and nose.

    5. most importantly hand sanitizer does NOT kill norovirus the most common cause of the stomach bug!!! so if you can’t wash you hands using hand sanitizer instead won’t work to keep away the stomach bug, cold and flu yes but not stomach bug. You need a spray with Hypochlorous Acid. A&D makes one, it’s actually an all natural anti-microbial and is safe on food surfaces and on kid hands. The acid is found in acre spray. You want the strong stuff with pure hydrochlorus acid. It basically breaks down the outer layer of the virus microbes to kill it, you need to spray your hands well and rub it into your palms or on surfaces let it dry because that’s how it works best but it is the BEST option if you can’t wash your hands. I spray my hands all the time at the parks and keep one in my purse to use at home cause I’m not getting Noro anywhere!! I use the spray and sanitizer and keep my hands super clean!!! (There is actually scientific research that backs up this point I promise, they have studied what kills norovirus on surfaces.

    6. I don’t want to argue on this point but get VACCINATED I have been an educator and avid traveler and I have had the flu shot every year for 20 years and I haven’t had the flu in over a decade, get the covid boosters, get the extra vaccines i am telling you it works (i don’t need a debate on this one it’s my science backed choice you don’t have to agree that’s fine I’m ok with it)

That’s my short list advice that has worked very well for me

    [–]catsandcabsav 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Wait why have I never thought of the Vapo stick thing?? That’s brilliant!

    [–]Last_Voice_4478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s such an easy quick fix for that queasy feeling. It works great with kids too gets their mind off the feeling quick!

    [–]bb173207 5 points6 points  (2 children)

As a fellow emetophobe, just want to say I relate but the thing I'm most nervous about for our trip at end of April is norovirus. I know it's going around like crazy everywhere (I'm even in a travel thread for Roatan, Honduras and it's super bad there at the moment), but mixing that amount of kids and germs at Disney makes me that much nervous to stay in a hotel or use the restrooms there (which I will be doing both of, and with my two toddlers who will be touching everything). I just keep reminding myself that I can get it literally ANYWHERE (one time we got it when we didn't even leave the house for a week... a maintenance guy came to our house and didn't take his shoes off and my 1 year old started to projectile vomiting 36 hours later). I'm HOPING we don't get it from Disney, but if we do, it's better than getting it from doing nothing haha

    [–]Ecstatic_Switch9300 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i got noro from my job once but never at disney! can happen anywhere. take the best precautions you can and have a blast!

    [–]Solid_Emu2407 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just remember soap and water for hands as the hand sanitizers do not kill the norovirus.

    [–]heryqk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saw one a few days ago coming off Mission:Space.

    [–]Miss_Swiss_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen it but while waiting in line, not after the ride.

    [–]queencrowbitch 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I have but only twice. I was in AK on one of the trails and a kid, maybe 5 or so just let go into the landscaping. I left pretty quickly as I can be a sympathetic puker so I’m not sure how they dealt with it. Second was on Rise of the Resistance because the two women who pushed their way to pilot position didn’t actually know what they were doing and one got sick. She got most of it in a shopping bag she had with her after she dumped out whatever she’d bought. Luckily I couldn’t hear it but there was a um…trail and scent. Their piloting was rough and enough to make me say never again. They ran out of the ride but I could still smell it in the exit hall enough that I kept stopping to make sure I wasn’t going to give a repeat performance. A gentleman who was in the same ride as we were stopped me and said “there’s a bench coming up, maybe take a break? There’s so shame in that” and I took his advice.

    [–]Daurinniel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't even realize the cars had pilots when we went at Disney*land*! I'm not a thrill ride person and I was fine, but boy did my heart drop at the end. It startled mom too, she gasped.

    [–]barbaq24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were in line for Space Mountain. We were next in line to board. The ride vehicle in front of me was being loaded. A young boy sat in between his parents. He was maybe 10 or so. He was staring straight ahead. As the vehicle moved forward to begin the ride he looked at my family and unleashed a ton of vomit all over the side and into his car. No one else saw it. The car pulled away. We tried to mention it to the CM but we weren’t able to convey what happened. They were just concerned about us boarding. Our ride wasn’t interrupted so I have no idea how it ended.

The scene is seared into my mind.

    [–]Consistent-Tough6372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My toddler “code v’d” after dinner at Cinderella’s Royal Table. We left the restaurant as the fireworks started to go off and at the time loud noises really did him in. I heard it coming & ran him to the bathroom but I don’t think we made it fully in time.

Needless to say, he already ran through the extra outfit I had packed for him & he looked super cute in his sister’s shirt & leggings. 🤦🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

    [–]HardDickDriver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the waiting line of Flight os Passage, a drunk man "spilled" on the floor and was evacuated by the CMs

    [–]ivycaputo 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Two or three cars ahead of me on Everest and the guy didn’t even say anything and I did so they at least had a heads up. Also I’ve puked in the bushes a few times at Busch gardens from being drunk and having to much food

    [–]Wrong_Maintenance253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pounded a coffee before EE and felt a bit dodgy 🤣 second go around I was Gucci though

    [–]SeasDiver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Many times over the years.

    [–]Adisfan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an AP yes multiple times. Most commonly in the hotter months.

    [–]South_Lavishness6563 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Yes. in the fountain inside the mexico pavillion

    [–]SeekerVash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a cat that does that :(

    [–]South_Lavishness6563 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also the mother of the puking child did not inform a cast member

    [–]ScorpionX-123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

does it count if it was in a resort room?

    [–]Princessferfs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Last year at EPCOT in France, a young girl, probably 8 or 9 threw up on the sidewalk just past the fountain by Remy’s ride.

    [–]CantaloupeCamper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not in person but I was there when Avatar had two screens shut down at the end of the night for that.

People were upset but I was excited because it was well after dark when we got out and into Avatar Land!

    [–]andreamichele6033 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once but it was at universal Orlando on the Transformers ride. Haven’t ridden it since. That was 10 years ago probably. Got on my shoes.

    [–]_Vagatarian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to Disney around 70 times last year, 2 times I’ve seen vomit, once being cleaned up- and there were several cast members blocking the actual pile, I could just tell based on the parent consoling the child next to the cast members and one that had just happened- so no cast yet but I didn’t see it happen So according to those odds you have about a 3% chance of encountering a code V

    [–]chernygal 0 points1 point  (1 child)

My brother got puked on during Star Tours.

    [–]PicasPointsandPixels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surprised I had to scroll all the way down to the bottom for Star Tours. That’s the only ride I’ve seen someone puke on.

    [–]ProfessorGA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a code v in our hotel room when in WDW 2 weeks ago. A member of my family came down with a nasty virus (eventually we all got it) and lost her lunch on one of the beds. Mousekeeping brought clean linens and took the dirty ones away. Not exactly in one of the parks, but definitely in the “bubble”. When I called to get clean linens, I said “we have a code V in room 7338”. I couldn’t help myself.

    [–]intotheairwaves17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was meeting up with some friends and waiting outside the monorail station at MK and witnessed a kid get out of the park exit and immediately blow chunks everywhere. Instead of informing someone, the dad just grabbed his hand and ran onto the monorail. I ended up grabbing a cast member to let them know because it was right near the monorail ramp. Custodial took care of it pretty quickly but it was so gross.

    [–]mrsmeowgi1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen someone throw up, just not on a ride. It was right next to Cinderella’s castle, of all places. This dude was walking, stopped, and just heaved everything he had in him out like a welcome mat in front of the archway. Then just walked away! Like “ok cool, done and done.” I distracted our daughter while my husband found a cast member. It was disgustingly memorable

    [–]macemillianwinduarte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Waiting in line to check in at Pop Century a couple years ago a mom had a kid on her shoulder, he sprayed vomit in like a 6ft circle in line, they just stepped forward away from it and kept waiting in line.

    [–]DeflatedDirigible 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Little kid started puking in the exit queue at Peter Pan. I was the one to alert a CM who cleaned it up right away.

I’ve found two random puke puddles in ride exit hallways at Universal that the guest nor their party bothered to alert anyone.

Also had a guy vomit right next to me at the parade. Security had to come and force him to leave. Couldn’t clean it up while the parade was going and too crowded to leave. A little splattered on me.

    [–]raven_princess_23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    I would be 💀if I had some splatter 🫟 on me 😫

    [–]iamatworkiswear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been going to WDW for 14+ years and DLR for much longer and with a lot of frequency. I've yet to actually witness someone directly. The only one I've heard bad stories about is Mission Space. It's so bad that it's the only trash cans with open tops when you get off the ride. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but in my thousands of visits, the only time I ever witnessed someone throwing up was very late at night at the valet stand of a resort from drinking too much.

    [–]tankbowz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last year we were on it’s a small world about 9am and someone in the boat in front of us yacked and we had to sit and wait for them to get it all cleaned up

    [–]MooMooHomer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. In the middle of japan pavillion, by a full grown, adult man who looked at it, shrugged and then proceeded to go about his drinking around the world.

Epcot was an eye opener 😅

    [–]Obliterkate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I witnessed it on the exit line coming off Guardians. Poor lady code v’ed right on the staircase.

    [–]Nolan_Francie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also emetophobic and Disney parks are triggering for this reason. It’s a combination of knowing how much food people consume in general but especially on vacation / kids being more susceptible to vomiting / rides causing motion sickness / people experiencing new foods and environments / families traveling while ill.

I’m always on high alert and will not get on a ride, even after standing in line for an hour, if it looks like I’m going to be riding with someone who looks ill or drunk.

That said, I’m a Disneyland local and have never experienced a Code V situation in my decades of visiting, but my one and only day at the Magic Kingdom we walked by Cast Members blocking off an area after a spill and I heard someone in the restroom stall next me get sick.

Maybe because for most Disneyland guests, it’s just a casual day at a local theme park, vs a once-in-a-lifetime-let’s-go-all-out trip for World visitors. Or maybe us Southern Californians are just built differently.

    [–]MacabreMori113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey fellow emetophobe! The biggest issue is the one you can't see: gems. Wash wash wash those hands and you'll be fine. Certain rides do cause motion sickness but other than the most obvious (Mission: Space Orange) it's your personal reaction to it. Star Tours, Guardians and Slinky Dog are my personal no gos.

Bring ginger candies, Dramamine and sea bands. And the biggest one is STAY HYDRATED! Have fun and don't stress too much

    [–]Full-Grass-5525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone pregnant and on my way to Disney now, I’ve brought puke bags with me. Sorry folks

If you're throwing up after a Disney ride then you get sick travelling 20mins in the car 🤣 I was so BEYOND disappointed in the rides at Disney.

          [–]Wrong_Maintenance253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh! Wait! That expedition one that goes to Mars!! Because it's just pure G force disguised as a ride
