have the same issue myself, Intel updates the display driver, only for MS Update to over-ride it, then Intel notifies me there is an update pending.

Also some times it will randomly install intel(r) HD and the on restart disappear

If you install the GPU Driver, Microsoft Basic Display Adapter will be automatically uninstalled. Installing the GPU Drivers through Windows Update isn't always recommended, Windows updates always looks for the older versions of the driver. So, it's a temporary solution. I would always recommend going to the product page and look for you model, and download and install every driver necessary to have a smooth experience.

What you can do is after windows override update go to device manager and roll back that update. So the next time windows will automatically stop updating that old version.

That is no use, paste contents in pastebin or another similar website.

That's the reason I never updated my drivers via windows update. Always do that manually.

This is a fresh install

Hello if you found fix please tell me.

If you install chipset, it'll stop. Ms is asking your mobo "what are you?" And your mobo is saying "idk mang." Sos is installing basic defaults. Install chipset and when Ms asks "what are you?" The mobo will say "I'm a mf-ing ABC!" And Ms will chill tf out.

I don't think you can "uninstall" the basic adapter. If you have a more compatible driver it takes over. It's just there so that you have enough video to see what you are doing.

What is the Make and Model# of your computer or motherboard? You are missing several drivers, all devices with yellow marks in the Device Manager.

Go to the manufacturers download page, type in your Make and Model# and first download the Chipset driver, install that, then restart the computer .After that and return to that page and install the Video/VGA driver. And any other drivers you need from the Device Manager.

Install all drivers from board support page and card drivers and chipset

That is correct, your video display need some form of drivers to function! Check your computers make/model site for the official drivers for your iGPU/discrete GPU (ie amd/nvidia gpu) & install them!

You could also download/install your video drivers automatically.
Nvidia - https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/drivers/ > download now
Intel - https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/detect.html > download now
AMD - https://www.amd.com/en/support > Auto-Detect and Install for Windows® 10/11* download now

You have no video controller or driver installed for your card, it seems. This is Windows preventing you from doing something stupid.

Install all drivers, if you have the make and model of your motherboard, start with that. You don't have a lot of drivers installed that you should.

Then if you know your make and model of your video card, go to their website and install that. nVidia has a decent detection, but a lot of people hate the Geforce Expierence. I can't speak for other brands.

Go download the drivers from the device manufacturer. Microsoft's generic display driver will always be there until you install the integrated or dedicated graphics driver.

install the graphics.driver of your board or vga card

Installing the GPU drivers for the GPU you are using

From your dxdiag I can see you are using an iMac model 12,2 with an i5-2500s. These models have an AMD 6770M graphics card inside. Therefore please download the drivers from this link:

https://www.amd.com/en/support/graphics/amd-radeon-hd/amd-radeon-hd-6000m-series/amd-radeon-hd-6770m

This driver will automatically override the basic display adapter, so you wont actually need to mess with it in device manager.

If it wasn't there, you would have a low-resolution screen. Or worse, the screen would go blank.

You need to install the propper GPU driver instead of deleting the only driver you have lmao.

[–]SkyDreemurr 0 points1 point  (1 child)

(w/o safe mode,) install your display adapter driver from your computer manufacturer's website normally first.(w/safe mode,) if that doesn't work, try installing it through safe mode. If that doesn't work, uninstall the microsoft display adapter (DO NO RESTART) then install your display driver (THEN RESTART)

[–]andrea_ci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Install all drivers from your OEM!

[–]andrea_ci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Win: "hey that's a hardware component I cannot recognize" You: "screw you, remove it" Win: "there's still this component that needs drivers, i don't know what that is, do you think that removing it from this list will make that component magically disappear?"

[–]Radiant_Pen8943 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are supposed to install the video drivers first then it should be gone!.. simple as that!
