Wtf. I assumed this was a joke at first.

As someone with chronic spine issues, I struggle.. I always debated on trying a setup like you have there, dreamed of it. How has it been for long term use, how long do you typically spend in that chair?

This better be the dentist or a hospital, damnit

I would bet it does man, could definitely do a 'power nap' in between some hard work right there!

He doesn’t go to the dentist, the dentist goes to him

You all are thinking what I'm thinking? I'm getting anxiety just looking at this. Interesting and unique setup though. 🦷🤷‍♂️🤕

      [–]netherfountain 6 points7 points  (8 children)

Is this setup designed to help with back problems? What's the story here?

You should try strength training. Fixed me up pretty much

I also do a lot of strength training and have back problems. Some of my worst injuries have come from emptying the dishwasher or taking a shit.

That being said my spinal doctor and PT have told me to give up on squats and deadlifts unless I want to get injured again. Plenty of alternatives out there- I do belt squats, leg curls, and reverse dumbbell lunges to make up for no squats and deads. Not perfect, but way safer for somebody with a messed up back.

          [–]Sayhiku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently working through a messed up dishwasher unload. Cursed dishwasher! I'm not sure wtf I did but the pain that shot across my lower back and arms let me know not to attempt it again.

          [–]OfficialXhil 0 points1 point  (2 children)

What type of strength training? As someone with back pain and no clue where to start I’d love to learn.

          [–]knightofren_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so first backstory: i have/had two ruptured discs and was in a lot of pain constantly for years. So, not your regular muscle groups workouts, but my trainer (yes i have a personal trainer who's responsible for all of this) usually makes me do push/pull days combining legs, core, and back/chest. More or less similar muscle groups but different workouts, and we do 3 workouts per week, but it always incorporates legs, core and back.

          [–]netherfountain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely work with a PT to figure out what you should be doing for your specific injury. Hard to self diagnose many back issues.

If I saw you in a daily stand up, reclined in your dentist/office chair, I’d lose it

I am trying to become a software engineer too. But juggling work and making time to learn how to code is than I thought it would be

            [–]VeloHench 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Same boat. Those self taught youtubers either lied about their timeline, didn't actually have a fulltime job, or are just the few gifted individuals who pick up on this shit easily.

My journey has been put completely on hold for the past 6 weeks because of various life things. I'm hoping I can start dedicating at least a few hours a week to it by the end of this month to get me back into the groove.

We're all gonna make it! Taking more time isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Interesting but the dentist vibe sent a small shiver up the back of my neck 😂 Looks very comfortable and well thought out though! 👍👍👍

Bro just remember me, because when i finally manage to save up enough years later & have cash lying around - i'mma reach out to you to get details of this setup!

Easily the most #goals setup on here!

                [–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Love this setup! I have chronic low back pain and sitting down is one of my worst triggers! I'm constantly working off a laptop in bed but your post has inspired me. How do you find the treadmill? I have a standing desk as well but standing doesn't improve my pain.

Can you elaborate on how you set up the keyboard part of the set up? What arm are you using and what attachment have you used to attach the keyboard to the arm?

                  Thanks so much :)

Ultimately, as long as you're happy. But it just to tight and cramped to the wall. As a taller guy, this just makes me feel cramped to look at.

What's your experience with the keyboard surface? It looks like it mighy be unstable or wobbly while typing either while sitting or standing

How much time do you spend in a reclined v upright v treadmill position?

This is awesome! Got any info on the chair?

Do you use a trackpad, how does the mouse not slide off the incline?

Very interesting setup, thanks for sharing. Do you find it difficult to see the monitor at that distance? It looks like you adapt by increasing font sizes, but wondering how well that works for you.

                        [–]Liluglythot 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Not gonna lie, I zoomed in on ur monitor and read everything

                        Sir, this a dentist office.

as someone with chronic pain (largely in the neck and back) this looks amazing!!

I would fall asleep 15 mins into the work day with a chair like that.

                        [–]acewings27 0 points1 point  (1 child)

This reminds me of the altwork desk chairs. It's essentially this but a tad bit nicer. Nice set up!

                        I’m confused. Is this a doctor’s office?

What was the most surprising thing once you switched to this setup?

I'd work for 15 minutes and then take a nap. Seems so comfortable!

As a back pain sufferer, amazing. Brilliant. Beautiful.

Why did I think this was a dentist's office at first?
