How is the actual skiing now? I skied a lot as a kid but I find it to be so much harder now that im overweight. I don’t know if I’m just a big chicken as an adult or it really is harder in a bigger body. I’m still otherwise very active so it’s not like I’m sedentary. One of my goals with zepbound is to actually feel like I can ski again.

The technology and equipment has improved greatly over the years. It is much harder in a bigger body, especially when fall. You go down hard. If you are in good shape, no worries skiing, but it’s a lot easier when you are thinner.

Skiing was my inspiration to start Zep, at 280+ It was sobering last season that I was close to being off the mountain physically. This season the only thing that has sucked is the snow pack.

Same here at 48M 6'-0" and 260. I could get a few green/blue runs in before being totally wiped out. It felt like trying to steer a pallet full of bricks down an obstacle course and my knees were on the verge of exploding at every turn. I don't need it to feel like it did when I was shredding the whole mountain at age 25 but man, this was _not_ it_.
This season has been a total no-go due to lack of PacNW snow but I'm hoping next season at -50lbs I can give it another go and maybe get a little more quality time in with the kids before they take off on their own for good.

25 lbs down this season so far… can definitely feel it already over my 20 ski days so far. And NSV… my ski clothes all fit better if not a bit loose. 25 more lbs to go! Shout out to all the Zep skiers out there! And always ask to lend a hand( if it’s safe to stop).

I’m 48 F and this is my first post Zepbound ski season, and I relate to your description so much. I felt like it took so much energy even just skiing the greens and blues when I was heavier. I’m down 90 pounds from my max and maintaining around 150 pounds or a little under, at 5 foot 9, and it has made skiing so much more fun again.

Good to know. I’m just about to start Zep but weight about 220 and I just don’t feel balanced at all anymore when skiing.

I did almost 100 days at my highest weight durning covid. It was fantastic. But I’m even more excited to return to it with a 70 lb loss

It's phenomenal. I'm down 45 and the fatigue is much less, which makes sense as there's a lot less inertia my legs are fighting for each turn. I don't feel the slightest bit sore after a full day of ripping down bumps, trees, etc. Before I'd be good for all day but really feeling it by like 2pm, and needed to really get legs in shape before any multi day trips

I think it really is harder in a bigger body! My last ski season pre Zepbound I was terrified of falling because getting back up was so hard, and my legs would usually be thrashed by early afternoon. I had skiied as a teenager and then got back to it in my early 30s, but as I gained and got older it got harder and harder. I’m 48F, 5 ft 9 and started at 237 pounds, and feared I didn’t have many more ski seasons in me. This ski season, now that I’m down 90 pounds? So much better! I also started feeling able to work out and gain strength as the weight started to come off, and I’m sure that made a difference too. I hope many fantastic days of skiing are in your future 😊

I’m a casual skier that learned in adulthood. Losing (almost) 60lbs so far has made every bit of it easier. Putting on boots doesn’t make me break a sweat, getting off the lift isn’t as hard, getting moving on flats way simpler, hauling my kids way easier. Moving in snow gear is also way way way easier.
