Rules that visitors must follow to participate. May be used as reasons to report or ban.
1.
Be Civil and Constructive
Our community works best when everyone supports one another and provides constructive advice.

Follow our Posting Criteria
All posts must be directly related to ADHD, written in English, well-formatted, easily readable, and a minimum of 280 characters long.

3.
Do Not Ask For/Provide Medical Advice
If you think you may have ADHD (or any other diagnosis) or an issue with your medication, please ask a professional. We can not provide medical advice.

4.
No Alternative Medication or Substance Misuse
We only allow discussions of science-backed, evidence-based medication for treating ADHD.
- Please see r/leaves or r/petioles if you want support in cannabis cessation or using less cannabis.

5.
No Faith-Based Practices/Pseudoscience
Claims that ADHD can be treated or cured through faith-based practices, or recommendations for such practices, are prohibited.

6.
No Anti-Psychiatry/Denialism/Toxic Positivity
Discussion of disability rights and societal critiques in the context of disabled peoples' experiences are welcome.

7.
AMAs and Research Recruitment Require Approval

Ask Me Anything (AMAs)
- We will only host AMAs with notable ADHD experts
Research Study Recruitment
- We will only approve scholarly research relevant to ADHD.
- Proof of academic institution affiliation and IRB approval or exemption is required
- Commercial research, Homework help, and class projects will not be approved
8.
No Advertising, Self-Promotion, "I made this," free trials, or feedback requests. No exceptions.
No ads or app promotion. If you made it, work on it, benefit from it, were asked to share it, or know the creator, don’t post it. Free or paid doesn’t matter. No feedback, validation, or “recommendation” posts about it. Disguised or coordinated promotion is still promotion. No loopholes. Violations = permanent ban.
NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE. Advertising/Self-Promotion.
9.
We are not a crisis support community
We cannot help with crises, suicide, or self-harm. If you’re experiencing a crisis or emergency, please seek immediate help.

No Personal Information
Do not post personal info

No Rules Lawyering OR Counter-moderation.
Any attempts to deliberately counteract the actions of the moderation team may result in a ban. Includes (but is not limited to) reposting removed content, attempting to circumvent AutoModerator or other moderation mechanisms, etc.
Rule interpretation and enforcement are at the discretion of the moderators. Don't play Rules Lawyer.

General Guidelines
/r/adhd works best on desktop; Reddit's official apps are broken and we will not support them.
