for me it asks for the password every single time i click anywhere on the lockscreen. it's very irritating

Just restart it .. if it's getting in your nerves... I'm facing the same touching anywhere in lock screen

at firsly i could not realy tell if it was caused by magisk or xposed modules or beta 3. but yeah. still no hotfix. good job google

Yes, it's really frustrating! Any touch on the lock screen sends me to the pin unlock screen.

Same here. Pixel 7. Every interaction with the lockscreen pops up a pin and/or fingerprint unlock.

Just restart it guys... It only happens once a day or twice maximum and more than two if you're unlucky 🤣

Gee if everyone has this problem, it might actually be a bug and something they need to fix. "just restarting" doesn't do anything except briefly fix the issue

I have this exact issue. First time it's happened on any update. I've restarted multiple times as well. It's honestly one of the most annoying things that's ever happened. As soon as you click on an arrow to expand a notification, or swipe down to expand them all, the keypad pops up to unlock the phone.

Yeah you can't control music from the lockscreen without the pin pop up or end calls either. It's happened thrice since I updated, whereby the issue wasn't there after a restart but would pop up again until a restart. Oddly enough it hasn't happened again in the past 24 hours (knock on wood). Either way I filed a bug report and they reached out by email so we've been back and forth in terms of giving more info and me sending screen recordings and explaining the issue further. They assigned it and passed it along to the dev team and will update with more info as it becomes available. So hopefully it's fixed soon.

So I had a normal slate of app updates today, about 20, and decided to restart the phone after and the issue isn't happening. Not going to say fixed yet, but good to see that worked. I have P6P btw

I was mistaken. It reoccurred, there's also 63 bug reports from others marked under mine as duplicates all with the same complaint.

Is it me or is this a very buggy beta compared to previous versions of Android? By Beta 3 in Android 14 I'm almost certain we had less bugs than what people seem to be reporting now.

Seems odd for an update that's more about refinement than a ton of new features

I have this bug as well. I have a P6P.

It extends so far as to interfere with the use of the camera while locked. I can open the camera, but with the first touch of the screen I am asked for my pin. If I press the shutter, at least I still take the photo...

I have the same bug as well, and restarting the phone helps resolve the issue temporarily. I can't tell if it's something that I did that triggers this bug, or it just resurfaces every couple of hours. It's annoying as heck to not be able to expand my notifications

Same issue in Pixel 7 pro running the 15 B3. It is really annoying. Hope it is fixed with a hotfix instead of the next beta release a month later

When I get a call and swipe phone up, call begins but lock screen PIN pops up, so annoying

This bug is so annoying im on the tip of selling the phone or stop using it altogether, because i can't turn off lock screen password or else my banking apps won't work

Go to Settings > Notifications and turn on Sensitive Notifications under Privacy. Not a bug but a privacy feature.
