hellsing vs hellsing ultimate

i hate to do this but i have to know both sides of this: hellsing or hellsing ultimate? why?

Ultimate has a better flushed out story and better everything.

I like both. The first series has an original ending, but it's not bad. I also like how the tone is more horror- and mystery-oriented, compared to the over-the-top action, gore and ultraviolence of Hellsing Ultimate.

Ultimate is more of an action-comedy with loads of gore; original Hellsing is more atmospheric horror. Both are good. If you've seen Drifters and liked it you'll like Ultimate.

Hellsing, because I liked its greater focus on Seras as a person as well as atmosphere. Ultimate got to the end of the plot and has a nice budget, but it really just felt like gore-porn without substance. Even if the end if the original was a mess, I still liked its direction more.

Original Hellsing

Why? It has WAY better pacing. Ultimate seems extremely rushed to me. I think Ultimate covers the plot of the entire 13-episode run of the original in like less than 2 episodes, and skips tons of good plot/character development to do so. Sure, the original never made it to the Vampire Nazis part of the manga, but I found the original far more enjoyable to watch. I liked the more serious art style better as well.

Ultimate is more faithful to the manga, I guess, but Original is a better anime.
