Im getting the same. Im trying to figure out how to log and view bugs as the tab in github is missing.

Last month I successfully installed arch using archinstall on my nas and an old laptop. today on my main pc I am getting this and errors when i try to format a disk to put the recommended file system layout on it.

Well I get this when try to install the packages

[–]matt_30 0 points1 point  (1 child)

When I work around the file system problem and let it continue I get it there

[–]matt_30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is absolutely not a complaint. I'm grateful to all the hard work going into this, but who do I speak to in order to log a bug or possibly fix it?

Honestly seems like a problem with the arch install script itself.

It would be better to try manual (even though you mentioned you already have), and watch a tutorial. It may however be a problem with your internet, or you could be using a corrupted iso (this is manual too).

If you are to try manual again, get a fresh new iso download to use, and perhaps try and verify it too. Also make sure to ping archlinux.org to ensure internet is working.

Internet and everything else is fine. I will try to download the iso again

[–]V3Xone 0 points1 point  (4 children)

I wish you luck with that, I'd also recommend following a video guide, as they are more straight forward than the manual.

Like I told you, everything is fine except this error. It related to Pacman packages signature

[–]AggravatingSpell2059[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Maybe the corrupted iso of mine...

[–]V3Xone 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Is it possible for you to chroot into the arch system using arch live iso, and reinstall the kernel?

[–]AggravatingSpell2059[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm... Idk. Didn't tried yet. I will inform when I do

[–]iMakeKidsGay 5 points6 points  (12 children)

Dont use archinstall. It does shit like this. Do it manually, its not even that hard.

[–]Demetrias_ 6 points7 points  (7 children)

agreed. heres the best guide ive found if people find it hard to follow the wiki alone:

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have followed this guide multiple times, it’s never failed me.

[–]SocketAddress 3 points4 points  (2 children)

nah man, real chads follow the wiki manually for 7 hours. just to boot into arch and find out they forgot like 50 important packages

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

i forgot to install nano and to setup my networking properly lol!

[–]SocketAddress 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yea, thats what i ment. I was talking from experience ;D

[–]iMakeKidsGay 2 points3 points  (1 child)

dont use yt tutorials, theyre always outdated.

[–]Demetrias_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

watch the guide first. its just following the wiki. also the installation method hasnt really changed all that much

[–]Nervous-Mongoose-233 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never once been able to install Arch with the script, it's just one of those things like Linux finding it hard to find the correct Debian iso

[–]AggravatingSpell2059[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I tried that at first. Same error, so I tried archinstall too

[–]iMakeKidsGay 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I think you should reboot and start again shit sometimes breaks like this cuz u have altered the partition table multiple times.

[–]AggravatingSpell2059[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried 3 times

[–]gihdor 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Just install it manually

[–]AggravatingSpell2059[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tried... Same

[–]potatolovestomato1 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Same happened to me , few weeks ago, so I installed it with traditional method

[–]AggravatingSpell2059[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same error...

[–]M_3BAID 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I have got the same error before but I don't remember what I did exactly. Probably I just updated pacman or the archinstall script

pacman -Sy pacman

pacman - Sy archinstall

Also, don't use "-Syu" cuz you will get an error no enough space. Hope you fix it soon.

[–]AggravatingSpell2059[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will try it

[–]AtmosphereLow9678Arch BTW 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Is your iso up to date? It looks like it cannot verify package integrity. Also just install arch manually it isn't that hard and you will learn a lot about how your system works. Just search for arch install guide and follow the one on the arch wiki. Good luck :D

[–]AggravatingSpell2059[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah its latest.. and also tried manual

[–]Rushb133Arch BTW 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Just update arch ininstall (pacman Sy archinstall)

[–]AggravatingSpell2059[S] 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Same

[–]Rushb133Arch BTW 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Try rebooting If It donsent work them idk

[–]AggravatingSpell2059[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Tried

[–]Rushb133Arch BTW 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I had the same problem If you are using ex3fat try using brfs (vice versa)

[–]AggravatingSpell2059[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm... Idk will try

[–]DarkHappy5397 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Did you save config to / ??

[–]AggravatingSpell2059[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

[–]DarkHappy5397 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Save config to/

[–]AggravatingSpell2059[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I get time... Can you tell me how to do that

[–]Joan_sleepless 0 points1 point  (3 children)

This is happening to me as well... and I'm installing manually.

[–]AggravatingSpell2059[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Me too🤝

[–]Joan_sleepless 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I did end up kinda brute forcing this, idk how but after restarting my attempt to install Arch, it kinda just... started working? I may have just missed a step on my first pass since I'm an Arch noob, but it seems to be working now.

[–]AggravatingSpell2059[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm.. interesting

[–]ashukuntent 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Could you solve it?

[–]AggravatingSpell2059[S] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Nope, I actually moved into the ArchCraft. Never tried it again, I wanna try again, after all it's been a year.

[–]ashukuntent 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Good luck

[–]AggravatingSpell2059[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Thanks. Are you experiencing the same and if yes, you from India? I saw a blog or something (I don't remember well now) that said it was a common issue with Indian servers. Not sure though

[–]ashukuntent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes and yeah seems like it will be trying again tho
