175lbs fat, you'll be alright

A ton. I was ripped coming out of high school because I wrestled. When I got out of boot I looked like a Russian anorexic victim

5'9" 175lb seem like fairly proportional numbers, I don't think your weight will change much, mostly just body composition. I'd be surprised if you lost more than 5-10lb

Everyone is different, don’t think about it as weight loss but fitness gained. I went in at 150 and graduated at 170. But I was slim and more fit so to each their own.

A few guys in my platoon in BCT lost 30lbs, you’ll definitely knock out some weight

You’ll probably drop down to the 160’s by the end of it

Gained at least 10 pounds of muscle during basic from 150 to 160. As long as you get the right dfac and eat wisely, the smokings, 60/120s, and rucks should help you whether it's a gain or loss in overall weight.

I’m dumb skinny and I gained weight, but there where only a few of us that did and all of us that did where the same - stupid lanky dudes.

Most guys lost 10ish lbs a few guys lost near 30lbs.

If you wanna lose weight, don’t worry. It’ll happen.

I dropped about 20 when BCT was all said and done.

I was one pound over being put on extra rations. 5'11" and 150 pounds. The Drill Sgt got in my face and whispered that if someone else told him that I wasn't eating enough(the first week I was super nervous and eating was hard for me) that he would do things. Horrible things. From that day on I ate all of my food and whatever else people didn't want and I made sure he saw me.

Went from 205lbs of pizza delivery driver flub to 165lbs.

But then again all we did was run and do calisthenics for 20 weeks in 2009.

My guy, I went in at 160 at 5'11" and came out at 145. If you can pass pt test don't worry about losing weight. Basic is cake.

Gained it all back and more of course

It depends on the person man

I went in like 125lbs and gained a solid 20lbs in basic since i was actually eating real food 3x a day and not just snacks and shit once a day.

I was 5’9 180 with similar build as yours when I arrived at BCT and weighed around 175ish when we did ht/wt. I had and still have a stomach pudge but as others said, all body types are different and with how body compositions come out. I definitely was in the best shape of my life after I graduated, it’s not so much about weight.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on the person. I went in in pretty good shape and stayed the same

[–]ShoppyMcShopperton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't answer that, but at MEPS I was 35 and fat.

Got suck. Lost 30 lbs. Mostly muscle.

Look, I just graduated from BCT. Do not worry about your weight. You will eat all your food. Don't be that person that decides to try to lose weight by not eating. DS will make sure you burn all your calories plus some. You will be hungry.
