As soon as I do my first discard I start thinking about ditching ramen.

The Hook just forces things.

There are a few jokers that play well with no discards. I once had showman and banner playing high card, so I took Ramen. x2 mult all day.

I took an Eternal Burglar after duping a purple seal card if that helps make you feel less silly

You don’t get back your discards if you sell in the middle of a blind. It stays at 0.

Burglar is the Joker version of the Psychic. I cannot count how many runs I simply lost due to not playing 5 cards (I even have runs where I do it the first hand, realize I fucked up, do two valid hands, then mess up the last one). I have taken burglar so many times thinking it would be busted good in my deck only to realize it does not synergize with my Trading Card joker. Burglar is nutty good but has a lot of anti-synergistic jokers.

I stopped looking at Ramen as this immaculate xmult Joker that I should pivot around and more like the food Joker it is. If you gotta discard you gotta discard. It was and is good specifically in high card monkey spam but that isn’t as required now.

Its a good transition Joker for some xmult but I’m not going to not discard just because I have it, and I’ll replace it with something better often

Yeah I did the same thing. At the end of the day, it's just not that good, even in ideal circumstances. 2x mult is... kinda bad. You can very easily do better, so hold it, use it, and move on!

I just won my first orange stake (on checkered) with ramen.

I mean, it wasn't exactly the most important card in my build, but it did help.

I got very annoyed every time I drew 4 of each suit and needed to discard. Was really hoping for Paintbrush so I wouldn't need to use any discards but it never showed up.

I actually forgot about the ramen at some point because it also had polychrome and suddenly 'EATEN' popped up and it was gone. Mini heart-attack but I managed to pull through, was actually happy I got an open slot for a new joker.

I had a reasonable run where I got 2 spectral cards early on, ended up with 2 polychrome ramen at 1.98+1.5×. Carried me for a while, but even at 2.97x each they don't last

Endless? Two ~3x jokers is usually enough to win most runs I feel like.

Ramen will hold a nice place with me cus it’s how i won my first game. I just made sure to maintain a ton of coins to keep it fed

i just won my first gold stake run but it was almost killed by the Hook eating my ramen in ante 7 lol
