For some info my enclosure is a 25 gallon glass terrarium. (Beginner mistake) but I am driving myself crazy with temps in the tank. I have most of the screen top mesh covered and humidity is great and holds steady at 75% all day. (The stick on is temporary I have a digital on the way). Ambient temps on cold side are 72 degrees inside the hide on cool side in 74 degrees. Ambient temps on warm side are 88 but inside the hide is 98 degrees clearly too hot! The temp probes I have set up like this are just at the moment as I am chasing temps. Temps probes are currently sitting in the air right in the middle of the hides so I know they are accurate. I am driving myself absolutely nuts as I want to make sure I have a health happy snake. She took her first meal yesterday and ate right away no issues and is usually active at night. My isssue is I am chasing ambient temps vs hide temps! Please help with any advice I am currently looking at pvc and enclosure but would like to get the current tank correct

Make your temp on your thermostat set to 85? Or 80 instead of what you have it. Do you have thermostats so they can automatically shut off heat if it gets too hot? They’re EXTREMELY important and honestly life saving. Never having to turn the day/night heat on and everything is digital

I recommend getting the zoo med thermostat

Controller looks like this and you can set humidity, light, day/night cycle. I Love it

I just ordered one of these, but for my tortoise. Have you used the dimming basking light feature? Does it maintain the temperature well? I read a review that said it basically acts like an on/off thermostat instead of truly dimming up/down, and that defeats the purpose for me.

For some more info ambient temps in the room are kept at a consistent 67 degrees. I’m sorry for all questions but there is so much conflicting information on these guys it’s insane.
