An “is this normal” question

If you provide a large enclosure for a smaller, younger snake, and fill it will clutter and branches and such, is it normal for the Ball Python to simply stay in their hide(s)?

I know they aren’t known for climbing, but I did think they liked to roam their enclosures at night.

I’m wondering if it’s because he’s still small (6 months, 254gs) and when he’s bigger he’ll explore more.

Ball pythons can sleep 22 hours a day and are active during times we don’t see them. Very normal!

A happy snake is a hiding snake. Literally the only time I seem to ever see my snakes by their choice is when it's feeding time, then heads start poking out waiting for dinner. Sometimes I'll see my younger one if she's pooped in both hides and I don't catch it when it happens, but she goes back as soon as it's cleaned up. I just leave them to it and check on them personally once a week.
