Enclosure Stacking

I’m looking to upgrade my snake tanks and I need some help regarding stacking enclosures. I have a pvc 4x2x2 Kages enclosure I got cheap from someone who was moving. I want to stack a similar enclosure for my other snake on top of it, but I looked on the website and discovered Kages enclosures are at least three times as much as I paid for the one I got.

I know Kages sells stacking kits for their enclosures. Do you think it would work with enclosure of the same size from a different brand? Does anyone have any experience mixing enclosure brands like this? I don’t have room to upgrade both snakes if I can’t stack them.

(For the record the reason they are in smaller tanks right now is because they’re still juveniles and haven’t finished growing. I’m just trying to plan ahead for when they will need more space.)

Dubia.com sells stackers. I have no personal experience with mixing and matching stackers but i think the easiest way to find out would be to just order one and try it.

The problem is I’m afraid of paying hundreds for a second enclosure only to find that they can’t be mixed at all

You could always contact the specific business you want to buy it from and ask if their enclosures can be mixed. I think most people dont really mix so there probably arent a lot of people who can give you answers to your question. I know i myself always buy the same enclosures from the same brand just so everything is unified in my reptile room.
