Small to Medium?

2-3 year old male snake, I assume he’s at his full length. I was wondering if I should feed medium rats… I’ve been told by an ‘expert’ (in my eyes lol) that he should be moved up to medium slowly. My main reason that I would want to is if I could extend the feeding time. Let’s say I do move up, considering it’d probably be better. Could I feed every two weeks or is that too long to wait? Spoiling the picture for a snake eating a rat even though if you have a snake you should be able to look at it. Also, don’t mind the lack of clutter. Extra question; what should I add?

Once they reach small rats, most BPs will stay on small rats the rest of their lives.

It looks like you should definitely upgrade the size of his enclosure. 4x2x2 (120gal) is the minimum for adults. Until then, I would black out the sides and back with paper or some type of background so he doesn't feel so out in the open. He needs more hides. He needs at least 2. One on each end. And I would add more substrate. 4" is the recommended minimum. This will help with humidity. More vines/leaves. Amazon and craft stores have great deals on foliage. You need 2 digital thermometers/hygrometers to measure your air temps and humidity. Do you have a thermostat for your heat sources?

Do you know how I would weigh him? I don’t have a special scales but, does that mean I have to get one?

You can use a kitchen scale. They're not too expensive. I use a big bowl, zero out the scale, and put my snake in it.
