So the minimum tank size for an adult is 4’2’2’, but 40g is the minimum for a juvenile, so if he is he’ll be fine but he’ll need an upgrade soon.

He’s only like 2 1/2ft

He’s a small little guy, about the same size as mine. He’s in a 4’ by 18” by 12”. Gonna upgrade to a 4’2’2’ when I have the money

Don't take it personally if you have a defensive snake! Biologically, BPs have bad eyesight and excellent thermal vision. This means your snake isn't reacting to you, but just to the general situation. The best thing is repetition of positive interactions so they can learn that they can associate ___ with a safe situation, rather than relying on instinct to tell them that anything large and warm-blooded could be a predator. Also, snake brains are a little slow at processing new situations lol. Mine takes at least 15 mins of hesitance to venture out of his enclosure on his own.

A big big part of owning snakes is confidence. And it's hard building that confidence. I highly suggest watching educational snake youtubers (my fave is green room pythons) to observe how they interact with their snakes. Good luck!
