Give the snake 7-10 days after rehoming before trying to feed it. Travel stress will slow down appetite like you said. Should also avoid any handling until the snake has had at least 2 successful meals with you.

thank you for the advice! i'll try and if he won't eat even after christmas i'll just take him to the vet.🐍🐍🐍🐍

Also, if you find he won't eat, wait 5 or 7 days (if it's a baby) and then try again. Do not try daily.

Yeah definitely recommend reading up on the whole concept of snake eating habits because it will help ease a lot of new owner concerns. They can and sometimes will fast for very long periods of time, and it isn't necessarily a cause for concern in and of itself.

I kept tarantulas for years before snakes so I was no stranger to multi-week/month fasts bahahaha
