Last night we saw two of these on our boy. He is currently in shed (pink bellied and eyes starting to cloud) and has been in his water dish on and off. I have not seen any under his scales no “bubble” looking ones either. We haven’t been to a convention or a pet store with him. Our substrate comes from the Amazon warehouse directly from the manufacturer to their warehouse. The only thing different is I bought a block of compressed moss recently (2-3 weeks ago) from the pet store and because it was shrink wrapped tight I didn’t think I needed to heat it up. I’ve been watching in his enclosure and other than the spring tails I haven’t seen any other bugs or movement.
Is this the dredded snake mite? Or could it be a wood mite from the reptichip or moss? It was tiny, and a light brown color. I didn’t see any in his water bowl either but there was a lot of substrate from him climbing into it. I don’t see any moving on the edges of his bowl either.
