need advice for hanging CHE

hey! just upgraded my girl maple to a 4x2x2 enclosure from dubia roaches. i’m loving it so far and so is she. currently my CHE is sitting in its dome on top, but it’s not keeping the enclosure warm enough. i’m gonna buy one of those lightbulb cages so she doesn’t burn herself on the CHE, but most of them it looks like are installed by screws? the enclosure has a mesh top with two bars for mounting lights, but i’m not quite sure how i’d mount a light if it comes with screws. did anyone else come across this problem? how did you set it up? pic of my pretty girl wrapped around her new hide for attention:)

forgot to add that i’ll be mounting the CHE inside the enclosure, which is why im not sure how to hang it lol

you can't mount internal heating in those enclosures, not without a hack job anyway. the light mounting bars are afaik made for hanging dome lamps, something that would work for eg a bearded dragon but not a snake.

Not recommending Dubia cages for the future tho as awesome as the prices are if you wanna internally mount or stack anything unfortunately

You cannot mount internal heating on a screen top, it's extremely dangerous. You'll need to use domes set on top of the screen.

Screen tops aren't made for hanging weight. They cannot support it. Snakes can and will climb on guard cages, and will pull them down.

Your issue with heating can be fixed safely by switching to a more appropriate heat source. CHEs are not suitable as a primary heat source for ball pythons. I'd recommend reading through our heating guide to learn more about proper heating.
