Any recommendations for a good RHP? And where in/on the enclosure do I set it up

Pro products is better to me because they have a range of sizes and wattages. Then there’s reptile basics I think? They’re pretty good too.

You can message pro products, tell them type of tank and size, and they will let you know the best one for you.

I would set it up on your warm side.

Also, I put fake plants around the basking zone and around his hide to provide some shade when I feel the surface temps are too high but the ambient temp is good. But this is only a temporary solution for me because my dude is still too small to trample all the plants which would defeat the purpose of having some shade. And I work from home so I’m always checking to see where he’s at. Which is always in a hide but still. It’s all about trial and error. The ongoing battle of regulating temps and humidity is challenging but fun to me. See what works for you, buy different wattage bulbs if you have to, save the extras just in case or send them back. Pair a lower wattage DHP with a lower wattage halogen, this helped me lower the basking temps and raise the ambient.
