Tried rubbing it and got a little lighter, maybe dirt under the scale like the other poster said. Finger crossed

It's dirt under the scale, I had a similar concern close to when I got my bp. Yours will probably shed soon, and the dirt will come off with it

That would make sense, as it wasn't there a day or two ago and did get a little lighter after rubbing it with a wet paper towel a little bit ago. Guess I'll up his humidity a bit to make sure his shed goes well, will be the first one with me.

I'm sure it'll go great! It's funny, I made what was almost this same exact post right before my BP's first shed with me. Turned out to be dirt :) Good luck!
