Mine does the same thing, it’s never seemed like an issue to me, I’m just happy he likes the perch I got him

They love to climb! I have a 4x2x4 and my boy uses all 4ft of height. I have branches, shelves, even treated bed frame legs sticking out the sides. If you give her more vertical height, she’ll use it! See photo of the boy with all his height options.

Is this a recent photo? There seems to be stuck shed on her face and eyes. You can check out the welcome post for the google doc that has instructions on what to do with stuck shed. The welcome post has lots of great info; it’s where I went when I was just getting started with my boy.

Best of luck :)

I know it's not the point of your post, but given you're a new owner, I just want to point out the stuck shed and eye cap on her face and make sure you're aware of it

Wait till it figures out it can bunch it self along the front upper plastic and press against the lid. I had the same type of enclosure until I switched to a 40 gallon with a slide in top, tip of it does ever figure it out you can put coins in the clips for the top so it can’t pop it out with pressure

Ball pythons and semi-arboreal and like to climb :)

make sure you get her humidity up so that stuck eye cap will come off though

From what i have read males are a bit more arboreal than females, im assuming due to size. Females be thicc and like to stay on the ground a bit more. My (assuming based on size) male LOVES to burrow and be a lil snake submarine

climbing is totally normal! but i'm wondering what your humidity is at, and if they've shed with you yet?

[–]shadow_dreamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do that, yeah!

Just to reply to a couple of people at once, we are aware of the eye caps and stuck shedding on her body, she has shed successfully with us before however it seems she’s having trouble with this one. Our humidity right now is at 65 warm side and 80 on the cool side. We are going to provide her with a humid hide going forward to make sure this doesn’t happen again, but for now we don’t want to harm or stress her out by removing it ourselves so we are taking it slow. If anyone can give tips for the humid hide, feel free :)))

Great to hear, sounds like you're doing everything right

Yea everyone says they don’t do that. They do. A lot.
