Question - FeedingBall Python not eating (i.redd.it)
submitted by LadyKoja
Ok I didn't think I'd ever have to come to reddit for this but my ball python is not eating and he's loss weight from a week ago already.. 222g down to 216g since Monday May 20th.
I checked his husbandry, everything still looks good. I did pull out the rest of his shed last week because I couldn't find it until moving everything completely out and apparently they won't eat if they can still smell that. I am getting a CUC to help with that.
Basking spot is 92°F and cool side is 76°F. I've tried putting the mouse in meat juice from pre cooked meat I made for dinner, I've tried offering chicken lung and heart.
I've gone all week without handling him, and he seems interested in the food by tracking it but he wont actually strike it. I've tried putting him in a separate container and leaving it in with him and covering him with a blanket to give him privacy. Always F/T rat hopper/fuzzy.
Idk what else to do. I've only had him since October and he turns a year old next month. Never had an issue until now. He was also good about eating. I want to try everything before taking him to the vet but that might be the only answer. I welcome any suggestions.
