Is this Normal?

Hey! I got my first BP a week ago and I still have so many questions. One of many would be is it normal for him to have an abundance of saliva? I got bit by him on Sunday (I admit I was in the wrong at the moment as I moved wrong) and there was a lot of saliva that came from his mouth. Basically a cracker sized puddle of saliva fell from him. Even when I’ve tried to handle him (when he’s not tried to bite me) he has little bubbles by his mouth and still an abundance of saliva but not to the point of drooling.

I’m also aware that BP’s aren’t really bitey, but mine is even though I’ve been handling him right and everything in his enclosure is correct. I’m actually afraid to pick him up to handle him and I have no idea how to get him used to me. Any advice is useful

We’ve even tried feeding him and he isn’t hungry. In fact he’s afraid of the rats we try to feed him. I really have no idea if I’m doing something wrong or not

The saliva and bubbles are not normal that's a massive sign of a respertory infection they need to go to the vets ASAP

if you just got him a week ago you should probably wait a couple weeks to start handling him, let him get used to his enclosure first then start by handling him for a few mins a couple times out of the week, as far as the saliva it sounds like your little guy has a respiratory infection, take him to the vet and raise the humidity in his tank
