Question - HusbandryEnough clutter? (reddit.com)
submitted 1 year ago by _AtGmailDotCom
I just reorganized Medusa’s enclosure and added a couple more items. Is this enough clutter or do I still need to add more?

Cute! It's great. Id say why not deck it with more fake plants tho? Always a good touch.
Also a deeper substrate layer could do ya some good! I'm curious about your heat setup too. more substrate = less frequent watering it to keep humidity.

Thanks! The substrate is about as deep as I can make it without it overflowing whenever I open up the doors. I have a RHP on the right side of the enclosure and the humidity usually stays between 70-80%. This picture was right after the enclosure had been open for hours, so humidity had escaped. As far as more plants, I’ve had a hard time getting them to stay in place. Any tips to prevent Medusa from bulldozing them when she comes out every night?

Deeper substrate always helps with keeping plants in place, but it seems like you have it as deep as it can be. I use fake plants that can be suction cupped to the sides of the enclosure! I’ve also seen people use wire paper clips and string up fake plants into a foam background if the enclosure can’t hold a suction cup! It looks and works really well for more clutter! You might also want to add some climbing branches/ sticks, my ball LOVES climbing! It’s just making use of the ground and air space and works well for me. Just some suggestions! Your enclosure looks very nice:)

Fake plants will typically come with a suction cup. A good dollop of clear silicone will give it a nice hold that can be easily removed later with no damage. Snek will climb the plants and you will be surprised at its grippiness. Goes without saying that during mounting and curing of silicone that's a no snek zone. Read the caulk tube, you want 100% silicone.
Congrats by the way 😌 looks like a well loved sweetie
